I was there last Saturday for a quick breakfast and everything was great! The place was packed and the young lady working the counter was very friendly and professional.

The food was very tasty but cold. There was only waitress who forgot about our food as I saw it sit there for at least 10 minutes. We then had ask about our food at tables that had sat down after were eating.

One flimsy piece of ham. Premium prices like all other restaurants but of poor quality. The English muffin tasted like it was baked dry in the oven.
Got the eggs benny with my husband. Overall, the impression was not great. The portion was small for the price we had to pay, especially knowing that everything was from Superstore. Props to the chef who has a tiny space to work in with a huge menu. Unfortunately, both my husband and I had cramps and diarrhea after.. might have got food poisoned.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sunnyside Cafe in Esquimalt, Victoria, BC, for breakfast with my boyfriend, and it was a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the owners themselves, which added a personal touch to our visit.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed morning meal. Although I can't recall the exact name of the dish I had, (my boyfriend would know lol), I can confidently say it was delicious! The portion sizes were generous, and you could tell that each dish was prepared with great detail and attention.
The flavours were spot on, and everything was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend and I were both impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service and i told him the next morning,
that i would like to have sunnyside again! Sunnyside Cafe is definitely a gem in Esquimalt, and we will be returning soon for another wonderful meal!
My friend took me for brunch the other day. It was my first visit and enjoyed the delicious food, great service and atmosphere.

An amazing place for brunch. Good people with a solid attitude to help and make the community a better place. The owners are of the community and really making a difference. It’s definitely a hidden spot. It’s not a polished place. But the food is warm and welcoming. If your looking for a place to try out this on your list. Just remember the portions are large so come with an appetite and come early as the locals flock to this spot especially on weekends. If you want to guarantee a spot come during the work week. And there specials are normally on fire.
Parking: East street parking or parking at the local park 100 meter away

Easily 5 out of 5 Highly recommend for the food and super friendly people. This was our first stop and first time on the island and we honestly felt like these folks could be the island ambassadors!

Excellent place to brunch! Even though it was tucked away, it way better than some of brunch places downtown. Definitely worth the journey in Victoria

Ignore the Haters – Sunny Side Café is a Gem!
I’ve seen a few negative reviews about Sunny Side Café, and honestly, they couldn’t be more wrong. This place is fantastic! From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel right at home with their friendly and attentive service. They go out of their way to ensure that everything is perfect, and they’re always quick with a smile and a warm welcome.
The food? Absolutely amazing! Whether you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast or something unique, the menu offers a variety of delicious options. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and everything is cooked to perfection. The coffee is always on point too – rich, smooth, and the perfect way to start your day.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that makes it the perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or a casual lunch. Sunny Side Café is a local gem that doesn’t get the credit it deserves from the haters. If you’re looking for great food and top-notch service, this is the place to be. I’ve been coming here for a while, and I’ll keep coming back!
