Nice place to eat, very large place with plenty of seating. We sat outside and it was hot this day but shaded mostly under the umbrella. The food was good, excellent portions and they had great DF/ GF options even deep fried pickles. The service was meh, Waitress asked if we wanted more drinks and I asked for a second beer. That beer never came, never seen the waitress until it was time to pay. I had to go in ask ask the bartender for a box for our left over food. When she finally came to collect cash for the bill she was like oh ya I forgot the beer...

Service started off slow but got better as the lunch progressed. Falafel sandwich was excellent with the whipped feta topping. Had the carrot coconut ginger soup of the day which was very flavourful.

Rotten salads, dry food, and don’t ever use the women’s bathroom as the wall tiles are reflective which unfortunately allows you to see into the stall

Popped in for a Saturday lunch. We had heard good things so were looking forward to some pub fare, but our experience was not great. The service was okay. It was busy so it took a while for orders to be taken and things to be brought. However, the food was very disappointing considering the long wait and the prices. The nachos were unimpressive… $28 for a half sheet tray of Tostitos covered haphazardly in marble cheddar, red onions, and canned olives and jalapeños. The toppings were rather stingy, and the dips weren’t very good - bland salsa verde dressed up with some onion and pepper to make it look nice, and some very basic guac. Another member of our table ordered eggs benny, which arrived cold and with one English muffin almost burnt while the other wasn’t toasted at all.

Not Celiac safe!
Was super excited to try this place considering the majority of their menu is labelled as gluten free or can be made gluten free. Only to find it is most definitely not!
Their “Gluten free beer” contains barley which in itself is literally Gluten. They also use that beer to batter the GF deep fried pickles which again makes them not gluten free. When I sent my beer back our server had said they use it for the pickles as well which is fine, I wasn’t gonna eat them anyways at that point but, then went on to say oh and we use the same fryer for everything. That’s usually something you would say as someone is ordering, not after you’ve brought the food out.
Also, ordered the tuna which was labelled GF but had a Ponzu sauce base which usually has a soy sauce added to it and was not clearly labelled on the menu or explained by the server whether or not it was made with GF ingredients.
Would be beneficial for a manager to do some research on what Gluten actually is and update their menu. Very thankful I double checked everything otherwise I would have been very ill.
Service was also sub par which I would overlook but even in response to me sending the “GF” beer back they did not take any accountability, they simply said “Oh”
Edit in response to comment: Barley=Gluten, simple as that. Any Celiac would see that on the can and not drink it. If our server had simply explained through these problems to me I would have happily checked the beer companies website and done the research myself.

Generous portions and good variety of menu offerings, more distinctive than typical pub fare. Several seating areas, so you can pick your level of noise, plus a pleasant outdoor patio.

Great pub. Great service. Friendly staff. Great food. Love the falafel burger and sweet potato fries are my favorite! Had the potabebello mushroom burger and 10 veg lasagna all really good. I'm vegetarian so good options.

I made a menu choice error. I really couldn’t stand the chorizo prawn polenta. Was a very terrible flavour combo. I ate it cause I was hungry but was a total disappointment.

No matter how many times I ask for a well dressed Caesar I end up with nothing but a dry bowl of salad. Take out stinks!
Food is expensive, not very good, and the portions are small. Service was rushed yet inattentive. First and last time eating there. Great location!

We had a wonderful time at the Fernwood Inn!
We were a large party of 19 that was a last minute group and they were not only accommodating, but attentive! Jenna was our waitress and she was like one of the gang, while ensuring our needs were met.
Highly recommend this spot and if you're lucky,. you'll get Jenna! Can't wait to be back.
