Just a quaint little place to eat and relax ☺️
While living in Fernwood, I learned about this nice neighborhood pub. The food is good. The service is great. This is a place that I will go out of my way to revisit now that I am in a different neighborhood.

Had a great experience last night when we went here for dinner and drinks and music bingo last night with my partner’s work friends. Firstly, a massive shout out to our extremely hard-working and diligent server with the cool feathery earrings. Really top notch service, particularly on such a busy night. Thank you for letting me sample the bitter! I will definitely come back. Secondly, just need to tell your chef that the vegetarian lasagna was absolutely incredible and the best I’ve ever had. Really perfectly seasoned and huge flavour profile. Loved this experience.

Had a reservation for eight people before walking kitty-corner to the Belfrey theatre for a drama production.
The manager and the server were very attentive and made sure we were able to get served and eat before the production. We also came back after for last call which was around 11 PM and featured $5 pints!
For supper, two of the specials were sold out so I defaulted to the chicken Parmesan, which was excellent: crispy fried chicken with lots of sauce and a rich risotto on the side. My seating companion
went for a fancy Nicoise salad with tofu. The food is much better than typical pub food Yet still reasonably priced. I would say it’s a go to for the neighbourhood especially with the friendly staff.

Jenny-Lee was our server. She is as good as a server can get for demeanour, friendliness and attention to detail. She is also very accommodating and allowed us to move tables to a better spot without hesitation or complaint. We are always happy to get her as our server when we go there although all the servers are excellent, and all the staff in general for that matter. The atmosphere is also great and I love the old village pub vibe the Fernwood Inn has. Having said all that, the food was a disappointment with my Fernwood Burger patty over charred and dried out. Fries luke warm. Its a shame as this is not the first sub standard meal we have had there. I really think if the food was better, this would be the busiest and most popular pub in the City without a doubt. The overall experience and people are still positive enough that we will certainly go back but perhaps to have just an appy next time or even just a drink or two.

My opinion is that this establishment is ageist towards children. I came here with my family, including two younger children, and no one bothered to come and serve us. We sat for 20 minutes with servers passing by, and no one bothered to come say anything about the wait time. No water offered even. It was not busy during this time either. I will never come back here, absolutely shocking service, very poor.

The Fernwood Inn is such a charming spot that truly embodies the spirit of the community! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and you can feel the connection to the local area. The walls are adorned with beautiful art from local artists, giving the place a vibrant and creative vibe that changes often.
The patio at The Fernwood Inn is not just fantastic; it's spacious and inviting—perfect for enjoying a meal on sunny days. The beautifully landscaped surroundings create an ideal setting for relaxing with friends, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food! Everything I’ve tried has been tasty, from their hearty pub classics to innovative seasonal dishes. The use of fresh, local ingredients shines through. I highly recommend the burgers—they're juicy and packed with flavour.
The Fernwood Inn is a beautiful place to gather, enjoy tasty food, and soak in the local culture. Whether you’re a resident or just passing through, it’s a must-visit!

This review is purely on a waitress experience. Last night I went for drinks with a group of friends, all of us are 30 +. My three friends ordered drinks and no ID was asked for; when I ordered my drink the waitress asked for my ID and I provided my Canadian Passport (showing I am 30 years old) since it is worth 2 pieces of ID, and even showed various cards on my apple wallet in addition to my Canadian Passport which proved my identity after she said the Passport wasn't enough to prove my identity.
I was denied service because "if an inspector came in customers have to have two physical pieces of ID for drinks." Remember that my three friends did NOT have to provide their ID, and throughout the remainder of the night as I was sipping my water I noticed that various new patrons who looked younger or similar age were NOT asked for their ID.
While I understand that waitstaff have the right to request ID in case of an inspector etc., I do not understand why that reason only applied to myself. If you are being strict with that rule, shouldn't the other patrons have been asked for theirs? And since when does a Passport not count as 2 pieces of ID? I have used it as such at various other establishments, for flying, etc.
This was also the first time I have ever been asked for my ID at Fernwood Inn and it put a damper on the evening for all of us.

I was told from a friend that you guys were amazing! Sadly, I waited 13 mins before anyone came to say hi or asked me what I wanted to drink. Then, when I did get a staff member to take my order who was very nice! The chicken wings I got to me wasn’t worth the price, as they were to oily and tasted a little off. And for the burger parts of it were burnt and dry. I don’t know if it was just “One of those days” Thank you for having me but I sadly I won’t return anytime soon. Thank you again!
