The food and service were very good, however the atmosphere was horrible. The noise from the bar and the music was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation at our table of 4! They now have hard wood floors and no table clothes, thus making it an echo chamber. They really need to install a wall between the bar and dinning room or at least a heavy curtain to mute the noise. We were here 15 years ago and it was memorable. Our friend's missed the previous dinner and they were disappointed. Considering the price (very expensive), we won't be going back and can't recommend it to our friends.

We had a delightful meal with excellent food and service. All the dishes were a hit. The crab appetizer was particularly good. We did have a variety of appetizers and mains. Each was outstanding. They also have a great menu for kids. The service was extremely good and they handled the children with ease. Good compact wine list. We went with a BC chardonnay which was so tasty. The only minor quibble was we were seated near the entrance and you go a lot of noise from the bar. However, I highly recommend the restaurant.

Food ranges from really good to pretty bad, I highly recommend the Kennebec fries, Pizza and pork belly. The main course foods not so much, burger and fries was super dry and fries were soggy. Was NOT worth the 30$ price tag.The wait staff range from really good to super inattentive, we had one nice girl one night who was amazing, but then another night one girl who didn't bring us water and only refilled it once and I had to ask.The dessert and drinks are very good though! I would skip the main courses, and just do dessert and drinks.

My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink while visiting Victoria. Matt was the bartender, and although he let us know right away that they were exceptionally busy and service might be delayed, he was exemplary!! We had a fabulous time!!

We three travel-buddy couples recently had breakfast here and loved the menu and the food. The menu has traditional favorites and some interesting additions. The service is excellent and the coffee is plentiful. It is located on the second floor of this exquisite Victoria landmark hotel. A real treat!

GORGEOUS dining location within the Fairmont Empress Hotel. We stopped in for an anniversary lunch while on an Alaskan cruise. This place did not disappoint. The seafood tower was delicious. Our drinks wonderful, and the staff very attentive and funny. A great special occasion lunch spot. The view from the veranda is stunning.

Thank you Fairmont for incredible stay. We had a dinner at Q at Empress . Marko and Elena were so professional, polite, helpful and very friendly . Thank you for making our dinner so special .

Beautiful patio. Menu is limited with no dairy free options. A dairy free cheese alternative for the pizza would have given us more choices. Service was pretty good and the view is nice.

While this is fine dining, the meal wasn't spectacular and at a price 50% higher than any other fine dining restaurant, it just doesn't rate. I wouldn't go there again. Although the service was fine, it's not what you should get for a 5-star hotel restaurant. there are better examples of good restaurant food quality in Victoria. I suggest you take a pass, unless you wish to spend too much money for a good (average) meal.

Food wasn't exceptional, but it did the job to satisfy us before the loooong journey back to Vancouver. Service was extremely slow so have plenty of buffer time and no ferries or flights to get on.Vegetarian options: Muhammra was different from authentic, but still delicious. Margherita pizza was sized for 1 and priced for 3, so budget ans order accordingly.
