Best mackerel in Victoria. My favourite fish! Such a cute and authentic dine-in restaurant too. Get here early, the best stuff sells out fast!

Best hidden gem in Victoria. If you like fish and can get in during their limited hours the best Negitoro Donburi and Grilled Makrel on the planet right here in Victoria.

Perfectly prepared Japanese food! So good it took me back to my trips to Japan! One of those rare games you stumble upon and think about after the meal is over.
Absolutely worth a visit!

This tiny eatery is an absolute favorite of mine. The grilled mackerel is phenomenal. The assorted sashimi donburi also knocks it out of the park. There is literally nothing to complain about. Everything is perfect and excellent.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this Japanese restaurant. The quality of the ingredients truly stands out—everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. You can really taste the care and attention put into each dish.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Special bravo to Jammy for the excellent service and warm hospitality, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The ambiance is very pleasant, with a beautiful Japanese-style atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. In terms of pricing, the cost is fair and reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food—it’s not outrageous at all.
This restaurant clearly focuses on quality over quantity, so if you’re looking for large portions rather than refined, high-quality dishes, this may not be the place for you. However, if you appreciate fresh ingredients, great flavors, and a lovely atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic preparation. The assorted donburi (Chirashi) pairs wonderfully with the vegetable. Highly recommended for a lighter lunch in the area.

Amazing food, but very crowded and hard to get in! They make whatever they have that day, and it's always delicious. My friends from Japan said this is the closest to actual Japanese food they've found in the city, but I can't speak from experience there. The rice balls are sooo good, and the food in general is worth every penny.

Greatest hidden gem in Victoria! Only open for short amount of hours but so worth it. Any of their donburi has very balanced flavour. Their fish is very fresh. I came alone to eat in and felt very cozy. The turn over of tables are quite fast as the space is small so I do recommend to eat in a timely manner for others to enjoy. They do sell out of the best options quick so arrive early!

This is hands-down the #1 authentic Japanese restaurant in town!
The food is fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. Their Donburi rice bowl, priced at just $18, is a fantastic deal. I couldn’t resist their daily special—Grilled Mackerel—which was absolutely delicious and a must-try!
The atmosphere, decor, and service transport you straight to Japan. I love this place and will definitely be back! 😊

The best Japanese restaurant in town, in my opinion!
The menu isn’t large, but the chef really focuses on quality. He uses mostly organic vegetables from local farms and even polishes organic brown rice himself!
Everything on the menu is delicious, but I especially love the assorted sashimi don, grilled mackerel, salmon collar, and the daily vegetable dish.
Great price, outstanding quality, and true authenticity!
