Ugly Duckling Dining & Provisions

The experience was fabulous and the food was amazing. We really enjoyed everything on the tasting menu. We drove from Vancouver just to eat at this wonderful restaurant. Located on a beautiful street in Victoria's Chinatown. Corbin the chef and owner was lovely and very welcoming. Our server from the Netherlands (I forgot his name- sorry) was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine and also very attentive to us. I haven't stopped thinking about our evening. Thanks Ugly Duckling! We hope to be back soon.

The food was exceptional. Every dish was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

The staff were amazing! We went for a birthday and we had some special requests and the staff all accommodated our requests when they could have easily said no. The food and drinks were amazing but the staff will keep us coming back!

My family and I had a fantastic experience at Ugly Duckling. The tasting menu was delicious (especially with the wine pairing because they complemented each other quite well) and our servers were knowledgeable, passionate, and good at their craft. We were well take. care of. It was definitely a special occasion. Can't wait to go back.

I have been several times dining at Ugly duckling and I am never dissatisfied nor disappointed. Amazing combinations locally sourced and service impeccable. Every courses was tasty full of flavours and worth every penny spent. Don't miss out and go for the wine and food paring you will not be disappointed. Bon Appétit!

The portions are incredibly small. We had for one course salmon poached in butter that was not good. The wine pairings are almost 1/2 the size of most places (3ozs compared to 5ozs) and at $87 for 13 ozs of wine one of them has an LDB cost of $22. $550 for very small portions the equivalent of 1 bottle of wine inc tax and tip. Too much it is far from Michelin Star quality in every way.

Great experience there! Services are nice and professional. Majority courses are fabulous. The taste amazed me and my partner. Only the main course, the lamb meat, might need a bit more work. The idea is great but the taste is too strong and not mixed really well. Overall, we were not regretting to be there. The Ugly Duckling gave us a great memory at Victoria!!

Absolutely amazing food, beautiful room, outstanding service. We absolutely will come back here when we return to Victoria and highly recommend it to any friends visiting there. It was the best meal we had on Vancouver Island (and we tried the other top ranked restaurants).

Yannis, our server, is a master at what he does. He matched our energy on demand and entertained our banter and questions. He alone created a very personal experience. Ugly Duckling exemplified the difference between eating good food and having a full sense experience. Worth the price? For someone of moderate income, this is a must-try at least once in their short life.

It is common knowledge that the tasting menu is truly a gift from the gods. Amazing flavors in every course and an impeccable wine pairing. You can't ask for any more than that.

We visited the restaurant the night before the Victoria marathon and had an amazing time. Food was delicious and service was very personable. Our favourite was the salmon dish! We'd go back anytime we're visiting Victoria again.

What a delightful experience! From the first interaction to us saying our goodnight's.....it was full of charm, well informed staff, exceptional food and a great vibe. 10/10, will go again!

Absolutely amazing tasting menu. We also did the wine pairing. Service was wonderful too. Loved it!

Be prepared for a fixed 6-course meal that will satisfy all your senses! We were pleased with the portion size as we left feeling satiated. Our only regret was not taking part in the wine pairings as the staff were very knowledgeable about their wine collection.

Incredible meal, probably best of my life! Not even joking. Enjoyed the Early Autumn menu, the service was amazing. Left the meal feeling fully satisfied. Would definitely come back!
