Service was not that good and food was okay. It's just not my type. Recommended if you like pork buns, I don't recommend the fried rice.

I think it’s the only restaurant in Victoria serving Hong Kong style food and drinks. My first choice in downtown for my comfort food ☕️🍛 Signature Hong Kong style milk tea and baked seafood rice, my must have. Yummy😋 If you like beef or shrimp, their Stir fried beef rice noodles, Stir fried Singapore rice noodles and beef curry rice are good too. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Can be quite crowded at meal time.
Parking: Fisgard parkade is nearby and there are some paid street parking nearby. It is in China town.

Great ambience, plus the customer service is better than most chinese restaurants. Got the chicken fried rice for lunch and although delicious, the portion size is smaller than other places offering much more at a lower cost.

Best BBQ Pork in the city !
Restaurantji Recommends
I usually don't leave reviews unless they're positive. I'm making an exception for this place, because the quality of the food was just so bad.
Food came out cold, included produce that was spoiled, and nothing was even close to fresh. I felt compelled to eat some of it, because it was fairly expensive, but let's just say I quickly regretted that decision. I don't know how the operators justify serving food like this. Shameful.

My friend, who has been here before a long time ago, took me here for dinner, and the food was authentic and delicious, I had the Chicken Chow Mein and Chicken Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was really nice
I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good chinese food when visiting downtown, and it's in a great location in Chinatown Victoria

This Chinese restaurant is very authentic and has a variety of Asian dishes, beyond just Chinese cuisine. Their menu also has great family deals for 2+ people, and larger tables so you can bring larger groups without any issue. The employees are very busy and attentive to orders, as this place can get busy very fast. Their food tastes superb, and looks exactly as presented in the photos in the menu. Their prices are also reasonable compared to other Asian restaurants in Chinatown.
I recommend Wah Lai Yuen restaurant for meals, whether lunch or dinner for a couple or group/family!
