This one of the worst experiences we have in whistler. The staffs from both outside and inside are very rude and treat us with no respect. And we came to a party of 4 only and when the bill came, the waitress automatically put 20% tip without giving any option to choose. We didnt want to make a big deal as we were tired from the trip. Definitely dont go to this restaurant and avoid this place at all cost.

My husband and I have been in Whistler for almost 2 weeks, sampling different restaurants for dinner every night. Alta Bistro has been the best so far! Food was terrific, menu was tantalizing, not the usual fare. Service great. Eric, the owner, was on hand and very friendly. Thank you, for the experience!

Highly recommend this place. Every dish was absolutely exquisite. All four of us enjoyed the winter menu. The burger was the only mediocre item but I mean why get a burger at a place like this.

Delicate flavours masterfully combined. We ate there a month ago and I still wanted to come here and write a review. That should tell you that you should really consider going there.

I booked a reservation to dine at the restaurant on Dec 25, Xmas. It was confirmed on Nov 29. On Dec 24, I discovered my reservation has been cancelled for no reason. The restaurant apparently has sent me a reconfirm email on Dec 18 which I never got because it was in my junk folder. When I called on the 24th and asked at 4:45pm, all I got was I am looking into it and will call you back. No one called me back for the rest of that night. If a reservation is confirmed, they should not create a reconfirm system to confuse the guest. If they are doing it, they should just pickup the phone to call or text to make sure the person sees the message. After all, what is the point of providing the credit card info while making the original reservation if I need to re-confirm? Today is Xmas, the restaurant never got back to me. This level of service is not acceptable. They should have gotten back to me within an hour. I also need to make plans if they don’t have a table for me. Making me wait indefinitely is not professional. If I can, I would have given them 0 star. Do not go!

Came here for my birthday dinner and we had a great experience. We got the roast beef bavette and the pork collar, and both were delicious. Our server was very attentive as well. Highly recommend!

We had a very disappointing experience here. We came as a group of 9, including 5 children. The restaurant was busy and food took more than 1:30 hr to arrive
, we spent almost three hours right there for the dinner— What we couldn’t accept was the attitude and behavior of our server.

She offered us bread by saying, “Do you want bread like your friend’s table?” There was no mention that it cost $10 per order. Because the wait was long, kids were hungry, and portions were small, more bread was requested. In the end we were charged for four bread orders, which we did not know were extra.

When we politely asked to clarify and remove the charges, the server became defensive and said,

“No restaurant in Canada gives free bread.”

She then brought the adjusted bill and slammed it on the table, saying:
“You should at least pay for one.”
Then immediately changed to:
“it’s not my restaurant. You don’t have to pay.”

When processing payment, she grabbed my credit card from right in front of me without asking and leave the machine for us to finish the rest of the steps— extremely rude and unprofessional.

The most shocking part was when she stood right behind my chair and openly complained about us to another staff member while we were still waiting for dessert. Our entire table could hear everything.

rude attitude, grabbing a customer’s card, slamming the bill, and talking badly about guests in front of them is absolutely not acceptable.

This was one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had. the service and the wait is totally unacceptable.

I want to tell that lady: Arix, the restaurant in the whistler village offering complementary bread and the food came out so fast, the portion is reasonable, something is not about money, it’s about the attitude. We were even thinking if she took the charge off the bill, we will give that $40 as a tip to her. Very obvious that she is not a smart lady

Had a lovely dinner here on November 29, did the winter three course menu. It was absolutely delicious, some of the best food I’ve had. The Caesar salad and the albacore tartar were incredible appetizers and the beef bavette was the stand out main.
Service was excellent.
If the restaurant improved the ambience this would be one of the best in Whistler. Recommend at least improving the lighting, the overhead bright lights take away from the vibe. Otherwise absolutely 10/10 experience, highly recommend!
