This is a great steakhouse. Great food and service. Fixed price menu was delicious and well prepared. All of the favorites!
I had good expectations about this place, but unfortunately, the food that we had was not good at all. The so claimed Caesar salad tasted like mustard and we didn't have a good meal as we expected.
We both had the gorgonzola filet cooked medium rare with the carrots and asparagus followed by a creme brulee which we shared; all very good. Service was great and we really liked not being rushed between courses or from our drinks to start.
While I know Hy's is an institution in Whistler I struggled to find the appeal. Especially with other great options in the village.
Excelente lugar para comer relajarse y disfrutar en familia , excelente calidad en los alimentos , definitivamente mi favorito en whistler , para comer carne considero que es el mejor , sin duda seguire visitando este restaurante
Ambiance was nice, staff were polite. Service and food however were not remotely acceptable. When I see my steak will be $70 before the sides, I expect my sides to arrive with my food. I also don't expect to eat my meal without a drink, where was our server?? Our server was exceptionally polite, but did not check in on us except to take the order, remove the plates and ask about dessert which we had planned on, but left as we just could not spend another moment with bad service. She was very busy with another table most of the evening. We felt very abandoned and ignored. We had a very rushed girl dropping off the food. Nobody checked on the flavour or if the steak was cooked to our liking. The broccoli was not roasted broccoli as described, it was doused in soy sauce, soggy and unedible. They did remove it from the bill, but it would have been nice to have a vegetable with our meal. Not once were we checked upon. Very disappointed and will not return ever. We have been to Whistler several times and always wanted to try here. We will stick with our tried and true places. Some more expensive, and some less, but all with excellent food and service! I can't begin to express how disappointed this experience was. They have food, but that is it.
Steak was delicious although slightly more salt then I'd like. Lobster Roll was a nice treat, appetizer cheese bread was soft center and crispy crust very good we ate two orders of it. Service was excellent they took their time listening to what we had to say and juggled efficiently with other customers.
I could not more enthusiastically recommend HY Steakhouse Whistler. It’s been the ONLY restaurant in the entire village to pull off the “trifecta” of superior drink, food and service. A special thank you to Greg (bar mgr) and Ian (bartender) who made the experience memorable. My espresso martini was perfection! The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly and superbly seasoned, tender and the best quality I’ve had in ages. The staff really makes or breaks any establishment and those working here, are genuine and friendly. I am a recent repeat customer for many reasons listed above and I hope the owner appreciates the culture established by all at this location which I am looking forward to experiencing once more before I travel back home. Thank you 🎄

The service was great. Everything else was a disaster. Let’s start with the cocktails. $23 a drink for pre-mixed nearly undrinkable whiskey sours. Order for appetizers was wrong and needed to be sent back. Over an hour wait between appetizers and main course. The beef Wellington was barely edible. The meat was chewy, overcooked, and tasteless. Adorned with 4 sad asparagus for $65! The other steaks were over cooked and over priced. The $85 rib in tbone had to be sent back it was so inedible. The deserts were shockingly bad. I love Hy’s generally and we’ve had great experiences there in the past but last night something was wrong in the kitchen. Not to mention the bathrooms. The men’s washroom was a mess. Floor was covered in urine. And the women’s washroom was no better with a lady washing her clothes in the sink.
Dietary restrictions: They tried to accommodate but got it wrong and had to re do the salad
Kid-friendliness: They were patient with the 3 kids in our group. But had no special activities and did not serve us quickly enough. We didn’t get out of there until 9pm with a 5pm start.

A Christmas Eve dinner with our daughter was made more memorable with a dinner experience at Hy’s Steakhouse in Whistler.
Starting with French onion soup, a warm and comforting introduction to the menu.
My tenderloin filet was cooked to perfection with added vegetables, creativity cooked.
To finish, a tangy flavoursome Key Lime pie. Great selection of wines, reasonably priced by glass topped off a memorable evening. Brian our waiter, was amazing. A cozy place to dine on a cold winters evening. Will definitely be back.

Overrated with mediocre steaks. Our steak had a lot of fat on it, the ceasar salad is basic (not sure what the hype is), unseasoned mashed potatoes. We did enjoy the oysters, creamed corn and tequila selection. Not a great selection of wine by the glass. Overall I think it’s an overpriced steakhouse that could do better.

For the price, the food is good but not great. The atmosphere and wait staff, were superlative. The reception is rightoff the front door so you end up in the path of the food sever

Hy’s Steakhouse in Whistler is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted by a warm and elegant atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.
The menu is a celebration of classic steakhouse fare, elevated to perfection. The steaks are nothing short of extraordinary—perfectly aged, cooked to your exact specifications, and bursting with flavour. The signature cheese toast is a fan favourite and the perfect start to the meal, while the sides, such as the truffle fries and creamed spinach, are equally decadent. For dessert, the tableside flambéed Bananas Foster is an experience in itself.
The service is outstanding, with a team that is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring every detail of your evening is flawless. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, the staff make you feel valued and cared for.
Hy’s also boasts an impressive wine list, thoughtfully curated to complement their menu. The Whistler location, with its stunning mountain-town charm, adds an extra layer of magic to the dining experience.
If you're in Whistler and looking for a restaurant that combines world-class food, impeccable service, and an inviting ambiance, Hy’s Steakhouse is the place to go. It’s the perfect spot for a memorable night out. Highly recommended!
