The food and services were great. Kids loved the kids menu food and steak and Beef Wellington were 10/10 great wine list and very attentive service that was not overbearing. Overall would definitely recommend and would eat again happily

We had a family steak night planned to end our trip in Whistler. My daughter and I decided to share the most expensive steak on menu the Dry aged RibEye. The steak was a Horrible piece of meat- chewy, grissle, and not tasty. They could not even cook to our liking we asked for medium- kitchen cooked it to Rare. Our server was embarrassed and tried to help as much as possible. He made it right by not charging for that steak, but when u are spending the money to go to what is suppose to be the Best, it sure disappoints when they can't deliver and you don't get a meal.

Got it! Here's the updated review with that clarification included: ⸻ A Disappointing Experience at Hy's Steakhouse, Whistler ★☆☆☆☆ I'll start by saying my family and I have been loyal guests of the Hy's Steakhouse group for over 30 years, visiting all three locations across BC. We've always had high expectations — and rightfully so — given the reputation and caliber of the brand. Unfortunately, our recent experience at the Whistler location was not only disappointing, it was shockingly subpar. Service was our first red flag. While our server was polite enough, it was clear he was unimpressed that not everyone at our table ordered a full three courses. We had a mix of mains, some shared plates, and of course, the signature cheese toast — which, thankfully, was the only highlight of the meal. The Caesar salad was a letdown. It tasted overwhelmingly of red wine vinegar, and instead of fresh parmesan, they used the pre-grated kind you'd find in a plastic shaker — not what we expect from a Hy's kitchen. The tableside preparation, which used to be a theatrical touch, felt rushed and uninspired. Portions were tiny — maybe 15 bits of romaine per plate — and lacked all the care and flair we've come to associate with this brand. Mains continued the downward spiral. My parents ordered the beef medallions, which were so tough my dad was grateful for the sharp knife. Despite being tenderloin, the meat was chewy and bland. The mashed potatoes tasted like unsalted, unbuttered cafeteria fare — absolutely no seasoning, garlic, or richness. The mushrooms were sad little shriveled things, some even burnt. The beef wellington was no better — small, lukewarm, and flavorless. The pastry lacked flakiness, the steak was forgettable, and the mushroom duxelles had no depth. The accompanying sauce tasted both over-reduced and aggressively acidic — an odd, unpleasant combination. And then there were the two hairs I found in my meal. We weren't the only table having issues. Guests bes

Dinner at Hy's steak house was quite disappointing. My party had high expectations and was looking forward to a memorable dinner. French onion soup and wedge gem salad were over salted. We shared the steak au poivre and rack of lamb which were mediocre for the price paid. Service was medium, it felt like the bare minimum was done. Our server did not even acknowledge that we were celebrating a birthday. With so many great restaurants in the Whistler area, would not return.

Amazing place. Amazing food. Amazing service. We order the onion soup and the New York. The crab cake and the wedge. Everything very tasty

Wonderful dinner, loved our waiter, accommodated all our requests. Must get the cheese bread!!

Could have been better. Steaks were dry. Bernaise was tasteless. Baked potato over cooked. We came in with our two boys and they sat us in an emergency exit corner with an exit door on one side and the bar keep supply on the other. They made my son get up and allow them in the bar storage three times. There were plenty of other open tables.... My boys go out all the time and are well behaved. It was a shame they judged us. We asked to move after all the disruption and the server told us “oh that doesn't usually happen”. If the food was really good, I could looked past the table, but, with both combined it was probably our least favorite and over priced meal in Whistler.

Hy's Whistler is a destination stop for great food and exceptional service. Take your time and enjoy all there is to taste. Oysters, scallops, escargots, Caesar salad, beef Wellington, sable fish, key lime pie was all delicious and highly recommend. Thank you Jason for the amazing evening.

Pricing was great as a spring special but could jot afford regular prices. Food was very good, ceasar salad, cheese toast, mixed grill and key lime pie! NY strip was a bit chewy, but rest of the meats were super. Dishes came very hot including the food itself....in fact the food was too hot to eat.

So eine große Auswahl an Getränken und das Essen war mega! Eins wurde direkt am Tisch flambiert zubereitet. Top Bedienung!!!

We should have stuck to the ordinary menu and not chosen the spring special! My stake was a poor cut and I found it quite hard to eat. The service as always was excellent.

I had good expectations about this place, but unfortunately, the food that we had was not good at all. The so claimed Caesar salad tasted like mustard and we didn't have a good meal as we expected.
