Pollo Campero's Major U.S. Expansion Planned for 2024

Pollo Campero is going hard on expansion, with plans to open at least 25 new locations across the U.S. in 2024. This fast-growing Guatemalan chicken chain (known for its fire fried and grilled chicken, sandwiches, salads and sides) is riding high after a successful 2023.

Last year, they launched 11 new restaurants in New York, Georgia, Texas, California, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma and Tennessee - breaking into some totally new markets. That impressive growth, plus hyped new menu items like mac and cheese and a breakfast pilot, helped drive a 19% revenue increase and 13.3% jump in transactions compared to 2022.

Blas Escarcega, the franchise development VP, said 2023 was "a great year" thanks to opening new spots and increasing sales. The momentum is still going strong - Pollo Campero expects to hit over 100 total U.S. stores by the end of this month. Minnesota and Tennessee are already on the radar for 2024 expansion.

Pollo Campero first brought its Latin chicken game to the States back in 2002 with a Los Angeles opening. Since then, this "fast-food sensation" has built its presence nationwide. With 25 more locations coming this year, their Central American flavors will be even more accessible.
