Redberry Brings Jersey Mike's Subs to Canada
Jersey Mike's Subs is heading to the Great White North. The famous sandwich shop from the Jersey Shore is crossing the border for the first time, with plans to open 300 locations across Canada over the next 10 years.
Redberry Restaurants is leading the charge. They've opened the first out of these new Jersey Mike's in Markham, part of the Greater Toronto Area, on August 28. The Markham location marks the third Jersey Mike's in Canada with six more planned for Ontario in 2024.
Ken Otto, Redberry's CEO, can't wait to share the Jersey Mike's experience with Canadians. "We are excited to bring 'A Sub Above' to the GTA," he said. "This is Redberry's first new Jersey Mike's location to open in Canada and we can't wait to share this iconic brand with our new neighbors."

To celebrate the grand opening, Jersey Mike's partnered with Make-A-Wish Canada for a five-day fundraiser. Customers with a special coupon can make a $3 donation to Make-A-Wish in exchange for a regular sub. The first 75 visitors on opening day will also score a free Jersey Mike's camping chair.
Jersey Mike's is known for its fresh sliced, fresh grilled meats and cheeses, piled high on bread that's baked right in the store. Fans love their sandwiches made "Mike's Way" with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and signature spices.
By year's end, Redberry will open additional Jersey Mike's shops in York Mills, Union Station, Brantford, Guelph and Pickering. That means jobs for nearly 100 crew members. And that's not all – Redberry's also planning to build almost 300 new Burger King and Taco Bell restaurants across Canada in the next eight years.
With more than 2,285 stores in the U.S. and nearly 300 in the works, Jersey Mike's is ready to bring a slice of the Jersey Shore to sandwich lovers from coast to coast in Canada. As Ken Otto puts it, "We can't wait to share this iconic brand with our new neighbors."
