Wichita-Based Chicken Chain to Open 50 New Locations in Southeast
The Southeastern U.S. has become a real battleground for chicken fast food companies - Bojangles is trying to knock down Chick-fil-A, Slim Chickens is sneaking up on them with 20 new locations opening, and now there's Chick N Max, deciding to open 50 new locations in the region. A Wichita-based chicken restaurant will open new locations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, targeting major and mid-sized markets.
"The Southeast boasts a well-established fast-casual chicken restaurant market, and we're aiming to establish a strong presence of our own and capture market share," explained Jeff Frahm, Vice President of Franchise Sales and Development at Chick N Max. "Our focus will be on identifying high-potential areas that are currently underserved or have room for additional options."

The expansion will introduce a new look for the restaurants, making them modern and more efficient. Each new Chick N Max will be about 2,100 square feet and seat up to 80 people. The main focus is convenience - drive-thrus, curbside pickup, and takeout options. They're also updating their technology, adding digital menu boards and GPS pickup, all connected to their app.
Frahm highlighted the restaurant's menu. "Our made-from-scratch menu has something for everyone," he said. "We have options for those looking to indulge to guests looking for a healthier take on traditional fast-casual chicken offerings."
Chick N Max is known for its chef-crafted sandwiches, fried tenders, and almond wood-smoked chicken and wings. The menu offers 10 sandwich varieties. Some unique options include the Loaded Bama with white Bama barbecue sauce and the Maple bacon sandwich with pulled smoked chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup.
The company is flexible about where they open new locations. They're open to standalone buildings, partnerships with colleges, truck stops, gas stations, and even amusement parks.
Chick N Max started in Wichita in 2018 and has been steadily expanding since. The company has seven restaurants across Kansas, Texas, and South Dakota, with four locations in Wichita.
