“A bit slow and pricey. I wish they cooked the eggs differently for the bagel sandwiches. I am not sure if they are using powdered eggs, but the way they prepare them in thin folded sheets makes them dry and unpleasant. Bacon was also shredded and dry. The sausage was great though, and the quality of the bagels are good.“

“The food and service were great. Fast, kind, and delicious. The interior space is definitely not a 5 atar dining experience. But for a place to sit and eat breakfast, it was fine. The selection was good, and the pastries were clearly made fresh. They did a great job making the food and drinks we ordered. Would definitely go back again.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly breakfast options. Donuts, bagels, cinnamon rolls, etc.“

“I'm definitely a bagel person, and I've had deli-style bagels in Brooklyn, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Studio City. Every major city claims to have the best deli bagels and sandwiches, but House of Bagels is by far my favorite stop for simple, yet authentic lox and egg salad bagels. The owners are really nice, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge. If you're in Alameda and have the craving, this is the place!“

“These bagels are the VERY best in the East Bay, and maybe in the country! I've tried every bagel shop around. No others come close. (An East Coast Jew knows an authentically boiled and baked bagel when she bites into one.) Their lox is also top-shelf.“

“I love poppy’s bagels so much. The basic bagel is so good I have trouble trying anything else. It’s simple but beautiful and a treat for the taste buds. Bit of a line on weekends but for good reason. They have ruined other bagels for me but I’m not even mad.“

“One of my favorite cafés. The best place to get an affordable delicious sandwich. This time I bought the tuna on Jalapeño cheddar roll. This café never misses unless they're sold out of something and the staff is always pleasant and positive vibes. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“

“They had fresh bagels and a customer service attitude in comparison to Bagley Street Cafe on Telegraph in Berkeley down the street from campus. I live on Telegraph and I will go to Lox Stock & Bagel which is several blocks farther away for a fresh bagel and a smile.“

“Cute bagel shop! Happened to be in the area and stopped here. We were greeted by welcoming and friendly staff and surprised by the assortment of bagels (they even have a blueberry cinnamon crunch!). I’d been craving toast so they happily crafted an off the menu breakfast sandwich for me while my daughter had nova lox on poppyseed. Both hit the spot! They’re expanding their back deck too! Tables have fresh flowers and thriving succulents. Great way to start the day!“

“I got the everything bagel with vegan cream cheese - it was probably one of the best (and unique) everything bagels I've ever had! The bagels are prepped in brine, so they are salty and crispy, which brought out the flavors of the everything seasoning in a really nice way.
The bagels here are gonna be polarizing based on whether you like salty food. Because of the brine prep, all the bagels are salty and crispy (literally potato-chip level). I personally loved it especially since I've never seen anything like it before.
There is plenty of seating inside and 3 or so outdoor tables for two. There isn't much airflow inside so it got quite hot on a sunny day.
I did not confirm whether the bagel itself is vegan. Next time I go I'll check. Will definitely be coming back!
Note for owners - because my bagel was served in a small plate had everything seasoning flying everywhere - a larger plate for this type of bagel could definitely help.“

“Very good bagels, run by a very nice family. The atmosphere is clean, but not somewhere that's very inviting to eat. Since the pandemic, I haven't seen literally anybody eating here. People just get their stuff to go. That said, they make proper boiled bagels fresh every day. They're chewy and crisp when toasted, which is exactly how a bagel should
be. I'm a lox guy, and they've only ever served me good, fresh lox. This is an important detail. Tons of bagel places serve fishy lox that you can tell hasn't been properly refrigerated or stored. This is never the case at house of bagels. To be honest, I've kind of had an addiction to this place. I go on jags where I get a bagel there 4 times a week....one last thing: try the pastrami bagel. It's delicious.
Kid-friendliness: I've been taking my kid there since he was 9 years old. They love him and treat him so nicely that it makes me love them. It's his favorite breakfast.“

“But...First I'm stopping at the Primavera Delicatessen! I was on my way up to Broadway Terrace to pick up Foster Grant the Warthog, he's been kinda in the dumps because he's all alone, he's got his pitbull buddies Rayban and Maui Jim but it's not the same. What he needs is a date night, so I'm taking him back to Napa for a hook up with Rosie O' my girlie Warthog, he's gonna come back to Broadway Terrace in a month or so, he'll be all scarred up and sore but he'll have some stories to tell his pitbull buddies that's for sure!
I'll tell you...that Primavera Delicatessen sure hits a homerun sandwich...I'm talking Grand Slam!
5 stars all day long! ☆☆☆☆☆“

“Love coming here! The drinks are always so well made and delicious. Staff are kind and were able to let me know things I could have based on my allergies. I also love visiting the little shop of locally made goods from clothes, herbal medicines, and more! 10/10 would recommend ✨“
“Love love love. Feels like being back in Italy (except they don’t have good bagels in Italy so better). Come here to get an authentic, top-notch cappuccino, a delicious bagel with unique California toppings, a stellar pastry, and great vibes.
My personal pref: ask for your bagel toasted for a little crunchy contrast“

“One of my favorite places in Berkeley to work on my laptop. There’s this bristling, cerebral energy in the air and people stay for hours. It feels like a cafe, coworking space, and start-up launchpad all wrapped in one. I love the mix of students, artists, freelancers, and entrepreneurs.“

“Stumbled on this place when working across the street servicing a customer's equipment and needed to grab lunch nearby. Had the best turkey and swiss deli sandwich of my life, not kidding. Now, every time I drive by the place I salivate. Had the chance to stop by there again today, one year later, and the turkey and swiss sandwich was even better! Fresh high quality bread, turkey, swiss cheese, tomato, red onion, lettuce, and some kind of special sauce. Incredibly delicious and a very rare find!“

“I have been coming to Bagel Street Cafe in Berkeley for 10 years now and it is consistently my favorite bagel sandwich. I used to buy lunch here multiple times a week while attending grad school at Cal and now have to make it a point to visit when I’m in town. Their sandwiches are piled so high with Turkey an delicious veggies including sprouts, cucumber and pepperoncinis which you don’t often get at other places. The bagels - in a huge range of flavors - are also delicious just with cream cheese! And the owners are so kind - they still remember me even though I’ve only come a handful of times per year for the past 5 or so years. Can’t say enough good things about Bagel Street Cafe!“

“OMG I love the energy I get when I go to this Noah's in comparison to others in the bay area. And I've been to them all. Walnut creek,Pinole, Fremont, Marin, etc. The ladies that are there in the early am are always nice smiling and ready to serve. I don't know what it is but they no matter how long it's been since I've been there last they still remember me. That makes my bagel taste so much better 😋. It's two brown 🤎 skin sista's and they bring the business culture.“

“Amazing açaí bowl with so many different toppings and flavors! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a scrumptious and healthy option. Service is quick and easy, perfect for on-the-go but there’s also an adjoining garden to dine in if you want a pretty spot to eat at. Highly recommend for taste, service and ambience!“
“The person at the front was incredibly nice. I got to try their food through TooGoodToEat but I will definitely be back to try other things on their menu. The pesto pasta had great flavor and the grilled chicken was still juicy. The spring roll is a must try!“

“Tasty bagels—good texture and you can tell they were freshly baked. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are the perfect way to start a weekend morning. One of the best bagels I’ve had in the Bay Area. The service is great as well and they are always so friendly. Highly recommend!“
