We visited Alameda in April to attend a celebration of life for a family member that we lost suddenly. Our family was in town from all over the country, and we found Cafe Jolie Petit near our hotel. They took such great care of us, fed us meals on three or four consecutive days, and we could not have asked for better service or food during an emotional time. Pastries (Koiugn Amann!), Monte Cristo, and the coffee bar were our favorites, but everything we had was delicious. We hope...
Right in the middle of the bustling West End business district there is a little slice of Parisian beauty and flavor. The space is beautiful and bright and there is plenty of seating indoors and out. A good wine list and great coffee options are on tap. Enjoy!

I really wanted to like this cafe. The ambience is cute.
The french toast itself was tasty, but I was disappointed that the accompanying syrup was corn syrup instead of maple. The berries were both underripe and overripe. My husband's croque madame was disappointing as well; too much cheese, the egg overcooked to a hockey puck. After our meal, we experienced food poisoning.
