Royal has been the best breakfast/lunch restaurant in this area for years -- for me more than 40 years including the past 25 years or so with the "new" owners. They have been closed now for more than two years, and they've done a poor job updating their website or there front door. Yelp says they reopen March of 2023. I don't know how yelp knows that, but I certainly hope that it's true. Owners: Please post your latest info. I've been stopping by your empty parking lot and checking your door all of this time.

I haven't been to this place in a long while. But I drove past it the other day and immediately thought of the eggs Benedict that I ate. It had spinach, avocado, tomatoes, and was DELISH!! I need to go back.

One of my fave cafe! Their pancakes are to die for! Fluffy and light. Blueberry pancakes to be exact. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is awesome!

My favorite breakfast place in the Bay Area. My life is emptier with it temporarily closed. My favorite is the Bene on Fire!

If the Royal Café were to open tomorrow, just as I did when my COVID vaccine was first available to me, I would be pushing older people out of the way to be first in line. I've been a big fan of the Royal Café for 43 years now. It's not that their food is the best in the world and it's not that their prices are better than any other omelette house. It's the people. I'm reminded of the old TV show CHEERS where, when Norm would walk in, everyone would call out his name. When I would walk in, the owners and staff would frequently look my way and smile like they were glad to see me. That is worth a return visit for 43 years. It's been nearly two years since I've seen those smiling faces and I miss them dearly. And if the smiling faces weren't enough for me, I haven't had a decent meal on a Sunday morning for nearly two years. Forget about social distancing, forget about masking and forget about showing my COVID vaccine passport--I just want some normalcy back in my life--and my Denver Omellete.

Royal Cafe is my #1 favorite brunch spot in the area. Consistently delicious food, good service and the most yummy banana coconut pancakes ever. I love sitting on the patio near the bougainvilleas :) I've been thinking about them during this pandemic and hope they can survive. If anyone knows of any ways to support please share!

Pre-covid: Took about 10 minutes to get a table and about 15 for the food. Service was great. It was as delicious as it looks. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Huge portions, delicious. This place has not been restaurant-consultanted to death. It's the real deal. Ambiance created by its longevity, not some superpierced/tatted trend-obsessed "designer."
