Kang Kang Food Court has been around for a very long time. Very causal ambiance type of price. On this visit, I ordered their famous Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Buns ($14.47). I've been eating these since I was in high school. Back then, it was one of the best things I had ever eaten, and the price was about half of what it is now. Even though the price has gone up over the years, the buns still taste just as good, and I still crave them from time to time. They are made to order, so if you're in a hurry, it's a good idea to call ahead. These are not fine dining pork bun with thin dough, but more like home style pork buns.
I also picked up the Baked Pork Moon Cake ($25.40), which is usually available around the Mid-Autumn Festival season. It has a savory pork filling wrapped in a crispy, flaky crust. For people who don't enjoy traditional sweet mooncakes, this is a great alternative.
Another thing I noticed is that they have a large selection of frozen items. I'm already planning my next visit to try the 50-piece Xiao Long Bao package for $23.
During my visit, many customers were ordering the combo specials. The 4-item combo with soup and rice was only $11.83, and the dishes looked surprisingly decent for the price.
Parking is available in the plaza behind the restaurant. The ordering process is simple: go to the register, place your order, pay, and wait for your food.
Overall, Kang Kang remains a reliable spot for classic Shanghai-style comfort food and a nostalgic favorite that has stood the test of time.

If you know, you know. This place has THE best soup dumplings ever. The scallops pancakes are good and the hot tray offerings look like you need to try some.Authentic and yummy. Worth a try!

Stopped by for some no-frills 生煎包 / pan fried dumplings. Easy parking in the back with a large lot.
It’s $16 for 8 dumplings, which is a bit on the expensive side for this type of environment but they taste delicious. Each dumpling has a good amount of soup in it and when the soup runs out, you can dunk it in the vinegar. I agree with the others saying that there’s more dough than preferred, particularly at the bottom where it’s seared. In the past, I’ve tried the beef chow fun and shrimp fried rice, which are great, and my friends seem to also like the beef rolls.
I paid cash but they do take card. If I’m in the area, I can see myself returning and ordering other items.

Kang Kang Food Court is a great place to get very good Shanghai Chinese food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is not very good but there’s plenty of seating. Bring your own wet naps to clean the tables. It can also get a bit noisy depending on who’s there. But there’s always to go. If you get the Shanghai fried buns, make sure you eat them there because they’re delicious fresh but not so much when they’re not.
I highly recommend you give this place a try for an authentic Shanghai comfort food dining experience!

I’ve gotten to eat here for years, after their outbreak with cockroaches & unprotected raw food near 120-130F, we went to try it again, we risked it for those Shanghai baos, however there is a bone on the receipt that came from the orange chicken, be careful of what you want to eat

The food quality here is about coin flip. If you come during rush hour or right before the food is great and fresh. After that, it degrades rapidly and can get pretty disgusting. Still, for its price in current economy, the value kang kang provide is still unbeatable.
Five stars almost solely for the Shanghai buns, which are delicious, juicy, flavorful, enormous, and highly worth the visit for. Everything else is okay, but nothing to write home about. The ambiance is very much like a chaotic food court, but I kinda find it endearing.

This review is to not discourage but to set expectations appropriately. The pan fried bun is stellar but the wonton noodle soup is horrendous. Service is the definition of no frills to borderline rude. This is likely cultural but still jarring. Many received their food order before ours despite us ordering first. Bring cash to avoid the 3% surcharge of using a card. If you plan to dine in, the tables are classically sticky with ring marks from cups. There is plenty of parking in the back.
TLDR: Come for the pan fried pork bao, bring cash, service is nearly nonexistent
