We walked into an unwelcoming environment. But the pastries looked good on display so we gave it a chance. Ordered 2 pastries and a mocha. She denied me an iced espresso saying they don’t offer iced drinks. She also did not want to make the mocha at first it was so awkward. We took everything Togo. Had a hard bitter brownie, an undercooked milky cheesecake. Nothing was edible! And the mocha was burned and poorly made. 0 stars.

I come here a lot since it’s one of the few American-style bakeries in Alhambra. Their desserts are quite good, all baked in house, and at a good price point in a good location.
Only thing is I would recommend using a different type of packaging. I noticed time and time again that the cardboard taste permeates the food, and it’s even more exaggerated the longer the food stays in the container. The desserts are still good but I find the cardboard taste pretty distracting/unpleasant.
They no longer have any 9" cakes rwadily available when I visited early September 2024.

The staff. The ambience. The cakes and coffee were all incredible. The only major gripe is they wrap the cakes in an impenetrable plastic they fasten with scotch tape. We all got our hands sticky trying to open them. Wish the cakes were easier to eat. As they tasted amazing.

The carrot cake was delicious, and the lemon mousse was good but the top layer was too sweet for me. I feel that this place is good for people with a sweet tooth. ?
