I was disappointed with the food at this particular location. Despite having had a positive experience at the Van Nuys branch, my recent visit fell short of expectations. While the service was efficient and friendly, the quality of the food did not meet the standards set by the other location. We ordered the 3-meat BBQ option and a BBQ pork wonton noodle soup, however, the soup base seemed to be fish-based, which was not to our liking. Furthermore, the BBQ meats were served cold, lacked flavor, and the accompanying rice was lukewarm. Regrettably, I do not anticipate returning to this specific location in the future.
Great Services and Flower. Customer care is diligent and responsible especially Tom whom I reached out to for my queries and problem.
Had the shrimp vermicelli shanghai style noodles, which I highly recommend. The service was good, the food is yummy and inexpensive. We dined in. The restaurant is non-descript and they accept cash only, so just be prepared! Perfect Chinese food!
This Valley Blvd hole in the wall has been a popular place to eat for decades. This is no Panda Express especially when you see plenty of Asians in here eating. They offer great deals after 9:30pm until closing. The service is quick so no long waits this is also a very popular take out restaurant.
The food here is a good value price wise. Service is quick, but not particularly attentive. If you like Cantonese Style Food this is a good place to eat.
older man new worker employee use foul language speak toward customer who just walk in to purchase food item, employee should be fire right away!!!!!!! thumb down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when a customer did not do anything or say toward to this older man employee directly.. you have other employee work on the day as witness to this incident.... 05/28/2018 9:00 PM
This is the best Sam Woo location as we had tried almost all the other locations in the past. It's small and basic from the outside , but has delicious food. The Alhambra Sam Woo has been there for nearly 30 years or even more. It was good to be back to taste their food and it was still as good as old times. We arrived on a Sunday morning for an early lunch around 11 am and only 3 tables of guests were there. But after 11 am, more people arrived. We had total of four people in our party and we ordered Thousand Egg & Pork Congee, Roasted Pork, Yangzhou Fried Rice, and Seafood Crispy Noodles. There was plenty to feed four people and we had leftovers as well. Cheap eats , but great taste. This Sam Woo, like other Sam Woo locations, only takes cash. The best Sam Woo around , must try .
This place has been here for a long time. They serve authentic Chinese (Hong Kong) style dishes. Excellent BBQ duck and pork. Service is so so.
Suckling duck, walnut shrimp, chow fun (hubby's fav), satay veggie and porridge - haven't had Chinese food for so long and it was dynamite!!
Sam Woo has been around for many years and has been consistently a great place to sit down and eat or buy take out food. The quality has always been there and it may not be the most romantic or fancy place to eat, it is just good Chinese (mostly Cantonese) food. The ingredients are fresh and well prepared.

It's my childhood go-to and it still remains one of my fav Chinese place. It's hole-in-the-wall but the good is fantastic!!!
I really like this restaurant I went 3 times during my visit . The food is good and wholesome. The service was great . I liked the duck and chicken but my favorite was the crispy noodle dish. Crispy noodle dishes are hard to come by where I am from and to have it was just so delightful. it was crispy and savory and everything one could want.
We have been coming here since 1989. It was good food then and it is still good food today. After being away from the area for 25 years, everytime we are around the LA area we make a point to have a meal at this location. It is the best Sam Woo of all the different locations, period. Never had a bad meal here, ever! What are you waiting for...? Go enjoy an excellent meal for no more than $15 per person!
Family has been coming here for quick dinners for years. It serves the best beef stew wonton noodle soup. The roast duck is crispy and good. Another must try is the roast pork, crisp and succulent. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. They speak and understand English well. The decor of the restaurant may not be as nice as other Sam Woo restaurants or other neighboring restaurants but the food is very tasty. This place is small and fills up pretty fast. Does not take credit cards. Cash only.
My Canto mom isn't a big fan of the place, but it still is doable...order the traditional dishes and you'll be satisfied!
