My favorite sushi place. The quality of their fish is great. The chirashi bowls are very generous and have a lot of flavor. The service is always very attentive and polite.Parking: There is a shared parking garage behind but it’s often full. You can find street parking on the side streets nearby.

Shout out to my friends Abel and Mary for inviting me and my wife to come try this place out!! We had a fantastic dinner with a group of fun friends at the sushi bar. Service was absolutely phenomenal and they were well staffed. The servers attended our needs and the sushi chefs made all the magic happened!Alan, one of the head sushi chefs has a fun and engaging personality and we had the opportunity of drinking and chatting with his entire sushi crew. They all worked masterfully together to create all kinds of japanese dishes. I am certain their Omakase will be phenomenal here because they carry many different kinds of fish and their cuts contain a fair and generous portion. Their sushi was absolutely fresh and delicious!I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who hasn't tried this place and it's located at a great area of Alhambra!

This place is a short walk from Atherton Baptist Homes where my parents live. Their favorite Japanese restaurant changed owners and is not the same anymore. So I thought we could try Shinkai since it is so close.Sushi/sashimi orders came out super fast with 4 sushi chefs at the counter. The hot foods came out much later but all food is delicious. Service is attentive and responsive. Place is smallish but you can quickly dine and dash.

Couldn't say I loved it, but with the limited sushi spots here in SGV, this is a good spot for you to grab a sushi lunch. Walked in without making reservations and was lucky to get a table. Noticed that they added a TV and was playing a soccer match toward the side of the restaurant. Took out some decorations by the front door so everytime someone opens the door, there is blinding light that would make you go blind (if you are facing the door).Service was fast and efficient, you place your order and you get your order fairly quickly. With patrons talking over one another and the way waitress was clearing and setting up tables, I thought I was at a Chinese Dim Sum spot for a second. Not their biggest fan but I am ok with this restaurant.

AaMAZINGGGG! Honestly, I haven't had sushi this good in a very long time. Pricey but worth it! The fish melts in your mouth. Nothing compares to sushi in Japan but this does the trick. The rice ratio is perfect here. And all the grilled fish (I got salmon belly and sea bass) were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We tried so many things here and everything was seriously amazing!

I came here with my gf to celebrate both our birthdays! This restaurant has a good location on Main Street and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. It's easier to project a big screen on the wall of the ocean than worry about maintaining a large salt water tank. And that's what this place did, it has a cool underwater sea life vibe and the sushi chefs are really nice.We both ordered chirashi bowls, and it was tasty. I thought the service was good because they kept coming to fill my water, I drink a lot of water.

Saw this restaurant in passing and decided to try it based on the Yelp and Google reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised! The interior is nothing fancy and is reminiscent of old-fashioned asian restaurants with their decor, but the quality of food is top notch. First, the menu is huge. We ended up ordering a combo, the premium chirashi, and a sushi moriawase. The amount of food was PLENTY. The nigiri that was part of the sushi moriawase was pretty big and the fish slices are long. The premium chirashi was worth the price and it also comes with a small portion of seaweed salad. The price we paid for everything was quite reasonable for the amount and quality you're getting, and that's the reason I will keep coming back here. I would definitely order the chirashi and moriawase again. We came on a weekend afternoon, so it was a bit after the lunch rush and service was consistent, friendly, and very good. You can park in the garage behind the building (also behind Lunasia).

Love that my friend told me about this place since it is so goooooood! Delicious sushi and very fresh. The cod is on a whole other level - I have never had such delicious marinated cod that completely melts in your mouth. Im getting hungry thinking about it right now. A bit on the pricey side but worth it if you're willing to splurge on sushi!

FOOD: A hidden little gem with such fresh sashimi, I'm so glad I found this place!- I was scouring Yelp to find a restaurant with lunch specials because I used to frequent a spot in Irvine that had them and was intrigued after seeing the rave reviews about this spot. Safe to say that it definitely lived up to its reputation! - My friend and I both got the Sashimi Lunch ($24) and the cuts of fish were so thick and fresh. Personally, I love squid, and I was super excited to see it on the plate marinated in a tart ginger sauce. It came with a bowl of steamed rice, and the pickled vegetables were perfect; it was reminiscent of Taiwanese 泡菜. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: It's not a very large restaurant, but we didn't have to wait to get a seat on a Friday lunch at noon. The interior was clean, and I enjoyed the aesthetic. It's quite dim inside with a majority of tables being booths. The staff are extremely attentive when taking care of the customers. There's a few parking structures nearby, as well as off-street spots available, so it isn't hard to find a spot. OVERALL: I really enjoyed my experience here and am definitely coming back again soon to try other items! The price and quality you receive is impeccable. Give it a shot if you're in the area!

Hidden gem!!! This is right next to a popular dim sum spot on Main Street in Alhambra. Got there right when it opened at 11:30 on a Saturday and it's already pretty packed. The prices of certain menu items are different between lunch and dinner so definitely not surprised by how popular this place is during lunch. Ordered the premium chirashi bowl and it's sooooo goooood! They give you thick cut super fresh sashimi (even includes uni) that melt in your mouth! It also comes with a shrimp head and you can have it either fried or in a soup. Everything tastes so fresh and just sooooo good! The regular chirashi bowl is another popular option (around $19 during lunch) and you just can't go wrong with that. The inside isn't big probably around 10-12 tables and bar seating. Just wowwww! Will come back!!!

First time having omakase. I went during lunch and order the traditional omakase. It was a great experience.DELICIOUS and all the fish tasted so fresh. As each dish is brought out to you (and there was a lot of dishes), the wait staff suggested in what order the plate was to be eaten and if soy sauce/wasabi was to be used. I found that very helpful as I'm not a big foodie. I always assume that I would not get full eating omakase but boy was I wrong. I was so stuffed. After all the dishes, the choice of desert was ice cream or cheesecake. I chose cheesecake. The cheesecake was the standard cheesecake so nothing special. My favorite was the tuna cheek and the waygu sushi. They both melted in your mouth. They opened at 11:30am and when I arrive around 11:20, there was a lot of people waiting for them to open. They don't take reservations so get there a little early. Parking was a little tough since there is a dim sum restaurant next door that is always busy.I'm looking forward to omakase soon!!

I really enjoyed my time here. It is a premium sushi spot not only with the prices but with the quality from the food. I can assure anyone that comes here that they will receive their food in a timely manner, as well as dishes taken away promptly. The salads are more than enough for one, and the rolls are rich in complex flavors. The atmosphere is perfect for first dates, small intimimate celebrations. Everything was delicious and amazing. Thank you!
