rustic ambiance with a country tavern feel. It seems like you may find a lumberjack or a cowboy here. Selection of beers on tap is good. Even the root beer is good. We enjoyed an enormous plate of delicious fish n chips with coleslaw and fries. Everything was very very delicious. Service was great. If you are going through Alpine, DEFINITELY have a drink and/or meal at the Alpine Tavern!!
I stopped by for a late lunch and walked into a place that I wanted to stay all day! What an inviting ambience! Oh yeah, lunch: Started with a cup of French onion soup - very tasty with great beef broth, lots of onions, and yummy chewy cheese on top. The reuben was on grilled marble rye with tasty corned beef, not overpowering kraut, and nice Russian dressing - as good as at any deli I've eaten. This place is next door to Janet's, the food is of great quality with large portions. I had the rib special that was definitely slow cooked, tender and flavorful. One of our go to spots with a cool vibe. Huge selection of beers and fairly priced. The staff works hard and care about your dining experience. I've had several meals here and have never been disappointed. Thank you.
