We visited a piece of land in the area and were able to find a nice place to eat near our place.
This was our first time in California Pines, we recently bought property and did an overnight camping trip on our land. We spent the afternoon eating a delicious meal at the lodge restraunt 10/10 recommend, we also were very appreciative of Joe Hill road crew lead, he helped us locate our lot and made amazing recommendations for us to explore the area. We will definitely be back soon for another camping trip!
The Lodge restaurant is definitely a place to check out if you're in Alturas! It's a little ways out of town, but the scenery is beautiful and serene, and it's worth a few minutes on the road! The lodge is located near a lake with the beautiful California Pines forested mountains behind. California Pines Lodge Restaurant offers massive portions and very good food, including highlights like the fried pork chop special and the filet and lobster tail special, both cooked perfectly. The excellent service adds to the dining experience, with friendly staff who are attentive and helpful. A noteworthy mention is the server, who is amazing and goes out of her way to ensure customers enjoy their meals. The place itself is beautiful, featuring lovely views of the lake and clean amenities like the pool with towels provided. While the lobster might be just okay, the steak is fantastic, and the chef deserves compliments for the delicious food. With a history dating back several decades, the restaurant still maintains its charm and promises a great dining experience with dishes like pulled pork and prime rib special dinners.
