Very nice and comfortable tasting room in the oldest building in the smallest town in California. I learned that today. This is what wine tasting should be like. A relaxing and informative experience with the wine maker without pretentiousness. Very good wines and a nice price point. Highly recommend a visit.
A few years ago I visited Rob’s quaint tasking room in downtown Amador City and fell in love with his wines. Rob’s passion for his wines shines through in each and every bottle. They are all delicious. So I went back a few weeks ago and picked up two cases with a mix of Rose, Cab, S&M, Chardonnay , and Sauvignon Blanc for my mom’s 70th bday party in the Bay Area. Holgate is the best because Rob is so entertaining.Rob remembers everyone's name and what drink you are on no matter how full the room is. And, of course, his wines are very good too!
