First time here on my stop in Anaheim. Great two-in-one restaurant and shop. Great selection of Filipino dishes. All of it looks amazing. I got the Mungo and Menudo. Nice long table inside with plenty of seats and also some outdoor seating available as well.
Only complaint I have is the price is a bit more expensive compared to other Filipino takeout restaurants, even compared to the ones in SD. The mungo was only the soup, no meat. Menudo was perfect. Overall 5 stars. đ

I would love to give Kapit Bahay 5 stars.
We have been coming here since the early mid-2000s until we moved to Inland Empire.
Our last visit this weekend, however, gripped my usual expectations of comforting satisfaction.
We got the Corned Beef, Kare², Tinola, and different brands of Hopia.
What surprised me was the pugnacious taste of the Corned Beef - it's at the edge of spoilage. Maybe I was just being over reactive so I kept quiet.
The Kare-Kare's meat (tripe) were not soft. It was not sufficiently simmered that it could be easily chewed and swallowed, but the sauce and vegies are one thumb up. I hope they simmer the meat longer because this savory dish would end up in the trash.
The Chicken Tinola is good. One complain is: there is only 3 very small bite-size pieces in it that the ala carte price would seem too expensive.
I wish Kapit Bahay can make the adjustments, bring back the quality.

So earlier this morning I stopped by Kapit Bahay to pick up some breakfast for my wife and son while I was out. When I arrived, it was just me and one other customer there, The trays were full of food it looked promising, I was excited to bring some home for my family.
I was initially going to leave a 2-star review, but I changed it to 1 star after finding a strand of hair in our bag, marinating in oil from either the corned beef or pork tocino.
The original 2 stars was becaus I was expecting a little more food for spending $28 on x2 2-item combos, at least an egg like other Filipino places. But unfortunately, we received fell short. My wife also mentioned that one of the Longganisas seemed like it was a day old and was inedible. Sadly as well, the older gentleman wasnât as âneighborlyâ as the store name suggests. Aside from that, the food tasted okay, but it definitely wasnât worth $28, both in terms of quantity and quality.
I was excited to try this place out since weâre Filipino ourselves and we love a good filipino breakfast but this place honestly was not worth it in my opinion. I also rarely leave reviews, but I was so disappointed in the serving that I ended up going to Red Ribbon to buy extra food just in case đ. Maybe they had an off morning or something, but I just wanted to share my experience.
Thanks for reading! đ¤

To be honest when I walked in, I had a good chilled vibe. Feels a little bit crowded to eat inside needed AC on full blast. I was sweating, but the food was OK not the best but it wasnât bad either. I wanted to try the Turin so bad but they are small, but it does taste good overall itâs a good place to try once, but I donât think I will be coming here again.

I was there for the market. I didn't find what I needed, but settled for something else. It's a small family owned Filipino restaurant and market.

Don't get the Lechon or the pork adobo. Seems like everything was overcooked. But the lechon was just pure oil when you bite into it. The meat portion of it is so dry. Extremely overcooked. I tried explaining that to the lady but she just brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal.

I bought this combo, and I was so disappointed. I ordered a lechon kawali and some fried rice, and
I saw the lady scoop the rice from the rice cooker, put it into a container, and sprinkle some powder on it. And that's what they call fried rice. I ordered my food to-go, and when we checked the food as we came home, the rice was expired, and i only got four small pieces of lechon kawali . The noodles has a weird taste and such little meat mixed in with it, and the rest of it is just cabbage. I am never going back to this place, they're cheating their customers. All their doing is heating up their old food for the next day and serving it to the customers.
