I first went to Roscoe's in 2018 while in Anaheim for Wondercon. Now, any time I'm in the area, I must stop by and get my fix. Chicken is crispy and perfectly seasoned and the waffle batter is one of a kind!

The chicken was seasoned just right and the waffle made to perfection! I can't wait to go again. So mad I didn't take a picture before I stuffed myself.

Overall the chicken was ok, waffles were average. I thinks it’s more of a novelty. Not worth the high price, but I’m willing to try again. The server was great and the staff were very kind.

Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles is a legendary soul food restaurant in Los Angeles, known for its iconic combination of crispy fried chicken and fluffy waffles. Since its founding in 1975, it has been a go-to spot for celebrities, locals, and tourists looking for a taste of classic Southern comfort food.

Pros:
• Delicious Food: The fried chicken is well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside, while the waffles are buttery, slightly sweet, and perfectly cooked. Together, they create a unique and satisfying flavor contrast.
• Authentic Soul Food Experience: Beyond the signature dish, Roscoe’s offers other soul food staples like mac & cheese, collard greens, cornbread, and smothered chicken.
• Casual, Lively Atmosphere: The restaurant has a laid-back vibe, often playing good music and attracting a diverse crowd. It’s a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
• Celebrity Appeal: Many famous figures, from Snoop Dogg to President Obama, have dined here, adding to the restaurant’s legendary status.

Cons:
• Long Wait Times: Because of its popularity, there’s often a wait, especially on weekends and during peak hours.
• Service Can Be Hit or Miss: While some visits come with friendly and attentive service, others can feel a bit rushed or inconsistent.
• Pricing: It’s not the cheapest spot for comfort food, and some may find the portions a little small for the price.
• Parking Challenges: Depending on the location, finding parking can be a hassle, particularly in busier areas like Hollywood or Inglewood.

I visited last week Thursday with a group, at about 11:30am. It wasn’t very busy. I had a guy named Cesar as my server. I don’t know if he was having a bad day or what but he was rude and straight up gave vibes that he didn’t want to be there. My coworker was trying to ask him a question and he responded with “well if you let me speak to say what I want to say”. Who responds like that? It was unnecessary and rude. Some from my group including myself didn’t even order because we were so put off by him. The restaurant was way too hot as well. Between the heat, the expensive menu and the rude server, I won’t be going back. I will say the table next to us had a different server, it was a woman and she sounded so dam delightful. I wish we had her instead of Cesar lol

Kid-friendliness: No kid menus.

We love Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles restaurants, but this was our first time at the Anaheim location. The food was awesome! Prices were a bit higher, but most likely because they are down the street from a world famous amusement park and the convention center.

I ordered the scoe's 1/4 southern style chicken breast with the two waffles and the chicken tenders and waffles. The chicken breast was so juicy and the skin was crisp to perfection. Waffles were delicious with the right amount of butter. I also got a side of mac and cheese with yams. Tasted like my mama was back there making my dinner with love. The only complain is the chicken tenders lacked a bit of flavor and were a little dry. The in house hot sauces were delicious on my chicken. Thanks to the crew that worked that night, you all made a great memorable dinner for us.
