For a Michelin star restaurant, the quality is not there. The dishes we ordered for 3 people are just average, not much flavor. No wow factor. Also a few of the serving plates were chipped & that's a bad luck in any Asian culture. IF Chef Tony is Chinese, he should know better. There are so many other Dim Sum places in LA that deserve a Michelin star, unfortunately not this one.

Despite the very long wait, me and my family thought the food was very good and I loved how some meals came with sets and desserts. The atmosphere looked fairly new and nice and despite the lack of service, I thought the workers were pretty nice. We should come back one day.

Located in the original Din tai Fung location. Honestly, the food is so so while being pricey. But you’re paying for the atmosphere, food presentation (bamboo steamer), and healthier (less oily, less msg?). Ordered the shiomai, ha kao, dumpling, pork bun, and salted fish fried rice. Again, they’re not the best but not the worse either. When asked for chili, I got the standard “sambal Oelek” chili. I was expecting an upscaled version to match the environment, that was an immediate turn off. In my opinion, everything else is fancy but why not the chili? Lots of reviews stated its different and great. It is different, but too different that it becomes a turn off for me and my vision of a dim sum place. While I cannot recommend this place, please try give it a try and be your own judge.

No, dim sum here is a major disappointment, eat here coz you have $ to burn. With those price tags, they should offer really really high quality dim sum. But it's hardly any difference in comparison with some other bad dim sum places

We came in for lunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was clearly understaffed. Customer service was abysmal and staff looked miserable. Water refills? Forget it. The food was just okay. It wasn’t enough to redeem the overall experience.

3 of us came here for lunch today. They took over the location from Din Tai Fung. It took a few minutes before someone greeted and seated us. We ordered:
- shrimp wonton w/ house spicy sauce (best, compared to DTF and Lunasia)
- shrimp & pork dumpling w/ black truffle (Lunasia is still best)
- squid in scallop dumpling w/ XO sauce (good)
- French baked BBQ pork bun (the buns too doughy, prefer the one at Tim Ho Wan)
- eggplant stuffed w/ shrimp paste (pretty good)
- deep fried pork dumpling (meh)
- deep fried durian pastry (excellent, real durian pulp, not processed, not too sweet, a bit greasy)

1 YEAR UPDATE: What's up with the service? Except for one guy not having his head up h̶i̶s̶ @̶$̶$̶ in the clouds, I had to scream for a menu after being seated, and they charged per pot for tea that is extremely weak and lukewarm. Plus, my girlfriend was disappointed with the durian flake cakes, where the flaky crust didn't do much to make up for bland durians. If it wasn't for trying to show off the jiggly bunny desserts, I wouldn't bother with this place. Overpriced for mediocre service and average food with a fancy marketing name.

Chef Tony came out from the shadows of 海港 (Sea Harbour), so I was hoping for some good stuff! But I'll have to say, I thought Sea Harbour sort of beat this location out. Can't say for the other locations in the area. Keep in mind though, this location is still far above the other Dim Sum restaurants in the area. But honestly, the squid ink 蝦餃 is nothing new after Sea Harbour, so they should do a better job of letting me know what original creations Chef Tony has made on the menu to differentiate himself from the roots which he came from. The jiggly coconut puddings were nice. If I come back with a date, I'd definitely get that for her! But other than that, there's not much I know of that's super-original. The taste of the items didn't really set it aside from other places. BUT thanks to inflation everyone else has gotten so much more expensive, that these guys seem much cheaper.
Despite me being critical, this place is still worth a shot!

Arrived during a busy time, expected a wait. Party of 6. Service was very good.

Overall, I had a good experience—friendly staff, a nice environment, and most of the dishes were tasty. However, I’m giving 4 stars because the fried chicken wings had visible blood, and some of the chicken wasn’t fully cooked. Hopefully just a one-time oversight, but it’s something to be careful about. I’d still be open to coming back.

Haven't been here in a while, came back since they closed their other location in Monterey Park. Like that space better as it was a bit more fairly and nicer being in the lobby of a hotel.

The food is still excellent. The duck was a bit rich this time, but good.

Not a fan of the tightly arranged tables.

One of these days, I'll be smart enough to take photos of what I eat. When I come back, cuz I will come back, I'll be better about taking pictures of the food. I came here on the recommendation of Kristy Hang, who posted about it on her instagram. I had the shu mai, har gow, wok fried turnip cake, and a pot of wonderfully perfumed Jasmine tea. The waitress was kind enough to offer me a to-go cup for the remainder of the tea in the pot. I would not have known to ask for it. So I'm grateful to her. There is easy parking in the lot. Highly recommend this place.
