This place is authentic, and when I mean authentic, I mean authentic foods good too.
The restaurant was closed for a period of time and appears to have done some partial remodeling. It looks much better now and no longer feels old or run-down like it used to. The dining environment has improved, which makes the overall experience more pleasant. Other than that, everything else seems about the same.
Fried pork bun (生煎包) - No juice and breading is a little too thick. I wouldn’t say this is close to being standard for “生煎包” but technically is fried pork bun.
You tiao (油条) - very crispy (a little oily) and even though it doesn’t have the je ne sais quoi of the ones in Taiwan, I highly recommend ordering it.
Do hua, salty (鹹豆花) - savory soy pudding.
