This local Cantonese restaurant was recommended to me by my friends and they all recommended me to try the hot pot rice. My friend and I had the hot pot rice with pork and vegetables, mixed vegetables, and hot and sour soup. The hot pot rice was excellent but have to say that the vegetables was a little over cooked, but still good. The hot and sour soup was more Cantonese style and good. The mixed vegetables was a disappointment.
There were a lot of lunch specials being offered ranging from $ 12 to$20. A lot of the customers were ordering the lunch specials and they looked pretty good
I am willing to give it a try next rime.

This was such a no fuss experience. Just good food and no waiters coming over to ask about the food during your meal. Just order and eat in peace. I will add that the rice and soup included in the lunch meals only applies to things that are not soup or rice heavy items on the menu.
They are baby friendly and I'll go here again because the food was so good.

Good Cantonese home cooked food and good service. We had gai jin-mein, crispy with lots of chicken and green Yu choy, claypot rice with mixed meat and vegetables. Large portion.

I googled authentic Chinese food and May Mei came up. I ordered orange chicken and garlic green beans. I love the taste, this is the Chinese food I remember in my childhood great quality, hard work and effort in the dish.

My order was wrong. Ordered beef brisket with bean curd. Received lots of fatty beef with soft tofu. The menu says beef brisket not beef tendon.

Came here after new years so they ran out of a lot of the items. Price is very affordable compared to other restaurants around the area. Typical Cantonese casual food, not overly salty. A good place to grab a quick bite. Floor is pretty slippery so be aware.

Very surprised a skinny and wearing a glass waiter threated us for minimum 15% tip while not much service from them.

Authentic Chinese cuisine with Hong Kong-nese taste and dishes. Top choices include deep fried squid w spicy salt, mixed seafood with bean curd hot pot, salted fish with chicken fried rice, and preserved egg with pork porridge (congee), but there's a lot of good stuff here! They can get real busy though, and sometimes the food comes out one at a time.

Won’t come back. The food didn’t taste as good as we expected, though it was acceptable. The worst part was the waiters’ attitude. We waited for 20 minutes and had to remind them. The waiters were calling out to each other over our heads, which made the atmosphere very unpleasant.
We left a 10% tip because we were not satisfied. A waiter then came over and told me I had to tip at least 15%. He returned the bill and asked me to correct the tip before letting us leave. WTH.

We were in the area so decided to get some groceries at Good Fortune market next door and try some take out here. Good Fortune was a bust with most of the shelves empty but the food from May Mei was pretty good. We had the fried fish filet and Singapore noodles and enjoyed both. Pretty good prices too. Really old restaurant but service was efficient.

Been coming here for nearly 20 years and the food is still so good. I’ve moved back home and found NEW things that I love at this restuarant.
If you’re in the area and craving comfort canto food, don’t hesitate. Love their free soup that they offer in person. Love love love this place.

May Mei has become my go-to Chinese Hong Kong style restaurant. Why? Great personalized friendly service -- but come earlier. Great food like how my mother used to make at affordable prices in generous portions. At office reunion lunch this Saturday, we had the August $16 special Steamed fresh live-well Fish (tilapia) -- so yummy that although only head, eye and bone were left over, two wanted to take home the leftovers! I love their Scrambled Egg w/Shrimp dish like my mother made every Chinese New Year. I also love their Fish Fillet over bed of veggies, Sweet & Sour Ribs, and Fish Maw soup although their house soup is very flavorful too. Mushroom w/Chinese Greens and Chicken with String Beans are great for balancing the meal. Lunch for 4 with 6 dishes was less than $100 with lots of leftovers.
