The owner changed and it isn't as good as it used to be. There's no more member discount and the braised beef noodle soup isn't good anymore and it used to be so goated. I won't be coming back here again. I would have given this a 5/5 before just for the food. Now it's like a -1.

So the restaurant seems to refuse to update their hour, closing at 10:30pm on Google. They accepted you knowing they were closing soon and kicked you out like 30 mins after you ordered your food. We had to pack our food to go. What a service! Highly not recommended on service. Food was just so-so.

There are a lot of amazing restaurants in Los Angeles. The Barn is my favorite.
The concept: a no frill take on the very best of Asian foods from Japan, China and Korea.
Service: the service at the Barn is amazing. The waiters that work there are all cool and welcoming when you come in, although,
It’s not a red carpet kind of place m, they know you are there for the food! They’ve managed to reduce a number of steps which allows you to get your foods faster. Ordering is done on your mobile device via a QR code by your table. Almost as soon as you ‘submit your order,’ food starts arriving! I absolutely love this and wish more restaurants would adopt this. The waiters regularly come by and are always more than happy to grab something out missed it. Clicking ‘request check’ on the mobile device and they will bring the ticket by promptly.
Food:
The absolute highlight of the barn is the chefs creations. The Green Beans are absolutely to die for. I don’t know what the special ingredients they use are, but my mouth is watering thinking about this speciality! They offer yakitori; the teriyaki chicken is a favorite along with the wagyu beef. The bacon wrapped asparagus is on the regular order list, along with the cheese corn which is some of the best I’ve had. I don’t get it every time I’m there but the spicy firecracker chicken wings are amazing!
Ambiance:
A single row of tables line the restaurant adorn with cool decorations throughout the restaurant. One of my favorite things about visiting the barn is the eclectic choice of music they play which changes up every night.
Wish I could give The Barn 35 out of 5 stars but they only allow me to select five stars. Hope you get to try it out and enjoy it as well!

Absolutely blown away on my first visit!
We tried a wide variety of dishes and every single one was on point—flavorful, fresh, and so satisfying.
🔥 Must-tries:
• Chongqing spicy noodles (mouth-numbing in the best way!)
• Dry pot pork intestine (bold and addictive)
• Bamboo fungus chicken soup (light yet rich in flavor)
• Japanese-style pork cutlet (crispy outside, tender inside)
• Grilled fish jaw, chicken wings, skewered beef and chicken breast, chive skewers—so juicy and well seasoned
• Cheese corn and grilled pig trotters were the perfect finish!
The menu offers a great mix of Sichuan, Japanese, and classic skewer dishes—perfect for group dining or a cozy night out. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

Not recommended. It’s a mix of Japanese food and Chinese Sichuan food. Weird concept. Not a single dishes is delicious, we even had to ask for salt to pour into some dishes. 🥲

Very disappointing dining experience. The food was completely bland, and the grilled skewers had a strong, unpleasant smell, making them inedible. To make matters worse, the spoon provided to us wasn’t even properly cleaned. The hygiene and quality standards of this restaurant are clearly lacking. I won’t be coming back.
Kitchen was for some reason closed 40 minutes before closing for takeout.
