The owners of Dead Reck are so awesome, they frequent the store I work at which is how I found out about this place. They create an awesome and welcoming environment in the bar and right next store they have a little shop if you just want a can for home!

Quite possibly the best tavern I’ve been to in a long time. Vibe? Awesome. Pinball? Yep! Records for actual music? Fantastic. But the beer? Friggin amazing…Pliny the Elder on tap. They had Andechs from Germany on tap too…incredible. But the prices were some of the best I’ve ever seen for this beer…I’m telling you, it has to be the best place on the coast. Owner is really awesome and is actually one of those guys that treats customers well. Imagine that, right?? Plus he’s also the bartender so quality control is in check. Thanks for having German beers on tap! So to recap…everything is awesome…you need to get here!

Hands-down the best place in Humboldt for beer. Great selection, great ambiance. I don't understand the one star reviews only because you can't bring your dog. So you can't bring your dog, so what, leave it at home and focus your attention on the beer.

Was excited to check this spot out. We walked in with my pup in tow and immediately got looks from everyone in the bar. The bartender didn't look thrilled to serve us but we looked at the menu for a minute anyways. He then took our drink order and told us immediately after they are a "no dogs bar" now and there was a sign posted. From checking out Yelp saying it was dog friendly and pics of dogs we didn't even think twice about bringing my dog. Some situation must have happened to ruin it for everyone else. But it's ok we took our money elsewhere, this place very much gives "regulars only" vibes anyway.
Greatest selection of craft beer in the area. Bartender is also the DJ, always spinning eclectic rock n' roll. The have a new and used record room, so drink, browse and buy. Beertender will even play your records. I love this place.
