Notoriously comfort food, clean and great service, usually local kids but a great crowd. Love this place...feels good! I'm a fan

Decent vegetarian Udon. The extra veggies aren't worth the price increase.

Every town deserves a delicious soup shop. Great place for a cup of yellow curry soup. I highly recommend both the hot noodle bowl and the cold noodle salad. They are both HUGE portions and so customizable you can get something different every time you come in. The basil vinaigrette is my absolute favorite on a cold noodle salad, but my partner loves the wasabi vinaigrette. A great place for a fresh and delicious lunch or dinner. I always feel good after I eat here, the food makes me feel energized rather than tired and sluggish.

The food is always fresh and hot. The portions are generous. Absolutely delicious! The prices are reasonable. Five stars.

I've made stove top ramen that tased better than this. The egg was jammy, nori was missing, the broth itself was a complete disapointment. The smell and taste had the strong smell of chicken boillon mixed with a maruchan chicken ramen packet. This place came highly recommended by coworkers and the local foodie group, but I feel we've been trolled. Service was ok, atmosphere was decent, but I'm here for quality food. I was served over priced college dorm room struggle food.

Some of the freshest ingredients I've tasted in Humboldt. This place is different in a good way! Always forget to take pictures but the camera would do no justice. Best homey tasting soups without being home.

My favorite soup and noodles in this town. I went here twice in one day because it was SO hearty and nourishing and I just wanted to have that other dish I was torn between choosing. So basically, a green chicken curry with veggies and rice for lunch followed up with vegetarian noodle bowl for dinner. Plenty of veggies to go around here with both meat and vegetarian options! A definite do-over and must-stop.

love this place, though I do wish there was a bigger, more obvious difference between the broths. I've gotten different ones and am never really able to taste the difference.

Interesting spot and friendly staff. I got a basic veggie ramen and it was a bit bland so I'd try something else next time, like whatever their daily special is!

Trying a new place!! The wait wasn't at all, food came out fast!! Looked good taste good, Perfect for what are cravings desired!! I got the hot noodle bowl Japanese style: with udon noodles, miso soup, with the char sui and vegetables.. DELICIOUS!!! Also I wanted to point out, that there's a mural on the wall that's amazing!! It make u feel so comfortable!! And the bathroom is cool too. If ever Aracata town, check it out!!!

This was my first time trying Japhy’s in Arcata. I’m not a huge fan eating just soup for lunch but I thought I could go for a soup and salad type of meal. I got clam chowder which I thought was pretty mediocre. It felt like the soup was crowded with potato’s and chives. I would stick to getting clam chowder at a seafood restaurant. The salad cost $5.50 and it was just lettuce, a few carrots, and a lot of ranch. A side salad for that price should have at least a couple of other vegetables in it. I wasn’t impressed by this place but people seem to enjoy it. It was not my cup of tea… or should I say it was not my cup of soup.
