I’m sad to say that my first visit was either a fluke, or this place has gone WAY downhill. I first went in 2022 and absolutely loved it! I went again in 2023 and very much did not. I had a halibut and it was mushy and flavorless. But I thought “hey, every place has a bad day!” and let it be.
I’m now editing this review in 2024, because I’ve just had one of the worst meals in memory.
The garlic butter for the bread I think is garlic powder mixed in with butter - it had a grainy powdery texture. But the main dish - “brisket”, was inexcusable. The mashed potatoes were the consistency of wallpaper paste. The vegetables were like rock salt. Then the brisket! Half of it was dry as a used dish sponge with about as much flavor, save for the Heinz barbecue sauce poured over top. The other half was pure fat. At least it was rendered, I guess?
The cocktails are good, I’ll give them that. I won’t be going back.
Original 2022 review: I just had a Ratatouille moment with the Shepard’s Pie. Super friendly and attentive staff and a nice atmosphere: kind of old h fashioned but in a good way?

Best happy hour in town! Tried most of the menu with a friend and everything was excellent. Especially the shepherd's pie. Highly recommend if you're on a budget. (happy hour only) The bartender was superb.

I've been going to Plaza Grill for awhile. The food is great sometimes and so so at other times. It is usually loud though when it gets about half full so hard to carry on a conversation. The service is usually very good.

Please adjust your DoorDash settings to allow longer prep times. I understand you have costumers dinning in to take care of, but routinely making couriers wait between 10-20+ minutes is frankly, unacceptable, when it can easily be avoided.Only wrote the negative review to get your attention, and will be removing it so it won’t affect rating. No hard feelings, but please, adjust your settings to allow more time. You can even set it dynamically, so it’ll adjust your allowed prep time, depending on day & time.Everyone benefits. Staff isn’t distracted by couriers repeatedly asking, customer’s don’t get irate when their dinner arrives 30 minutes late, we don’t waste our time and write borderline passive aggressive reviews.If you made it this far, sincerely, thank you for reading.

Came here for Valentine's Day and were not disappointed. There are very few "nicer" restaurants ìn Humboldt and this is definitely one of them. Service was good, prices were alright. The fish tacos really weren't anything special but tasted good. The brisket tho... ?? daaaang. ?

The “medium” hamburger came well- done and the fries were cold. The fettuccine carbonara was very salty. My Manahattan was more sweet vermouth than bourbon. The service was fair. Fortunately, we live in Ohio and don’t have to ever dine there again. The old building was cool.

We had our company holiday dinner here for the 2nd year and it was great! Food and service were fantastic and the area was perfect for our large group and allowed us to have some space for exchange. Thank you Plaza Grill and staff!
