Cool restaurant, dining ambiance, and private dinner event space. Unique venue with excellent food, featured menu item changes each day. Homemade pasta, focaccia, and more.

We discovered a new favorite restaurant called The Kitchen in Arcata! If you are ever in the area it is the place to go especially if you enjoy great food! We were welcomed warmly upon arrival. The food was exceptionally delicious - fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared. Portions were quite generous and the cost was economical especially given the quality of our meal. The service was attentive without being smothering. Our only regret is that we don’t live close enough to swing by on a weekly basis to enjoy their changing menu.

We visit Arcata once or twice a year. We have our favorite restaurants and The Kitchen is now on our list of “go to” places. They offer a weekly menu item. This allows them to keep costs down for their business AND customers. Also, there is no “order envy!”The night we went they served Taco Salad. Delicious, generous serving, fresh ingredients, roasted chicken. The guys are fun, attentive and we can’t wait to go back!

First time eating there tonight (9/13/23). Wonderful food (chicken Taco salad) and great atmosphere. Friendly server for our table. I would suggest this place to everyone. Looking forward to eating there again in the future

Love the concept of this restaurant; one meal selection per week. The ingredients are fresh & seasonal and the recipes creative and quite tasty! Portion sizes are generous. We have been twice and absolutely loved it each time. Tonight was homemade pasta to die for! Drink selection is excellent as well. Joe & Jake are friendly and welcoming. A great experience all around.

This place takes comfort food to the next level with a creative what-sounds-good-this-week menu style and a classy but very warm small-town atmosphere.I first went to The Kitchen roughly a year ago for a butternut squash soup night. I was wildly impressed at the complex but satisfying flavor in the chef’s take on a meal I’ve loved since I was a kid. I came back later for an unforgettable cheese tortellini in mushroom sauce that forever changed my standards for pasta. Since then, I’ve enjoyed some of the best meals I’ve ever had at The Kitchen Arcata.Employee owned and operated, The Kitchen Arcata is ran by 3 very sweet guys who were so welcoming every time I walked in the door. If you ever talk to a regular, you’ll see how loyally these guys are supported. If you ever talk to one of the guys, you’ll see just how much they deserve the props. From tender steak and ribs to clever soups and tapas to plates that straight-up look and taste like art (and usually for like $20 a plate), I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re not coming in every week to see what’s new, you’re missing out.

I didn't realize this was a 1 dinner a night restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and found the meal was ribs, potato salad and coleslaw.2 guys run this restaurant... 1 cooks & 1 serves (well, they divulged there is a 3rd behind-the-scenes clean-up and handy man)... and it was end of there evening so I was only 1 or 2 tables, but they were happy to see another hungry face at 730p.So... back to the food... the pork ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the BBQ sauce was thick & rich, slightly sweet and slightly spicy...just delicious. The red skin-on tater chunks were the perfect 'doneness' and were tossed with dill, sour cream and paprika. The coleslaw contained thinly sliced red and green cabbage with crinkle cut carrot slices... and a mild cider vinegar (I'm guessing, but correct me if my taster missed this) splash.Portions were large; I took half of it home.Good slow-cooked ribs are so great to find when eating out because they require babysitting when prepared at home.... just fantastic.

There wasn’t enough food. It wasn’t all that good. No decor to speak of. Not going back.

I would've taken photos of the food, but it was so delicious I'd already eaten it all: The only decision for me was whether to take a photo of my empty plate, or lick it clean. We came on a night with the shrimp and grits. Fantastic service, amazing seasonal ingredients, great environment. I'd highly recommend going here!

Great meal, fresh ingredients, and such a great concept. They have 1 meal per day, so you walk in and they start cooking without any delay! Don't worry about being paralyzed by indecision any longer.

I like the concept of one meal option per day. Went for it on pork wonton soup night. Flavors were good. Wontons undercooked. Portion size for $16 was ridiculously small! It was served in an appetizer size bowl and not even filled up. Really disappointing. If you only have one item for dinner at least give your customers enough food to be satiated. Had to go home and have second dinner. It’s a shame because i like the idea of this place but was thoroughly disappointed

Amazing! New and inspired meals daily. My fiancé and I stopped by today for the “Disheveled Joseph” - their take on a sloppy joe. The homemade focaccia is to die for! It came with fresh potato chips (they made them in front of me) and killer pickle spears. Can’t wait to try their next creation. I recommend checking in on their instagram to see what’s on the menu that day - I promise no matter what they are serving, it wont disappoint!

Absolutley my favorite place to dine in Arcata! I have been eating here occasionally for the past 6 months and have been blown away each visit. If you crave food that is made with love, intention and of the highest quality, you must stop here. This is the type food and service I would expect when travelling in Europe or a major American city (both of which I have been blessed enough to experience). The Kitchen Arcata is an abosolute step above the rest in Humboldt. It has quickly become my favorite spot to eat. Every dish I have had there so far has been unique, extremely palatable, and a breath of fresh air amongst a town that is full of predicable dining options. Always fresh, seasonal and absolutely amazing, I have come to love this little Arcata treasure. Treat yourself and stop by. You will not regret it! Something special is happening at The Kitchen Arcata, and every person who loves high quality food and a suberb dining experience needs to try them out! They are setting the bar for dining in Humboldt. I truly hope other restarants take notice and step up to this new standard of culinary artistry. Humboldt needs more quality food like this. Enjoy!!
