Cute diner with all day breakfast and lunch fare. Super friendly and fast service.

Ordered 4 dishes.
Clam Chowder (soup of the day): 5/5, great flavor, decent amount, very filling.
Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo: 4.5/5, shrimp and noodles are good independently, but they NEED a lemon to tie the flavors together, so ask for one. Shrimp come with tails on which is a little annoying. Good portion.
Fish n Chips: 2.5/5, breading was slightly undercooked, fish was a little bitter and mealy, fries were not out of the park.
Fried , meat was dry and very salty, breading was heavy, thick, and salty.
Sides:
Mashed potatoes and gravy: 5/5

We will be back. It's popular for a reason. The food is well priced, good quantities, and tasty. This is our new go-to when we are in the neighborhood.

First time at CJ’s and I’ll be coming back. Breakfast all day is always bonus points with me! I got the Huevos Rancheros and it was massive and delicious. They don’t skimp on portion size and tastes great. The home fried potatoes could use a few less bell peppers, but that’s just my preference. The place looks like it was an old Denny’s with a facelift. Happy to have another classic diner option in Arroyo Grande. Bon appetite!

i felt discrimination . ordered to go and they said give them ten minutes . I came in after ten minutes and the hostess said it was still being cooked but she looked at a to go bag on the counter and stammered out the reply as if she were making it up as she said it . I waited another 15 minutes , so an additional 1.5x the estimated preparation time . I left at that point as I was going to be late for work . I'm pretty sure it was an employee who came out yelling at me as I was merging onto grand . do better
