First Black Bear experience was the Gridley CA restaurant in '94. It was awesome the first time, and I haven't been disappointed since. Sadly, Covid closed the Gridley eatery but I have visited the Redding, Salinas, Vallejo, Chico, Bend Or. and many more and will continue to seek them out. Delicious food, large servings and a great variety of choices. Can't go wrong eating at Black Bear!!
Stoped here on my way through, Jena was my server, she was incredible! She very knowledgeable and attentive to my gluten free needs. She took special care communicating with the kitchen to make sure there was no cross contamination. Highly recommend asking for Jena when visiting Black Bear in Auburn. 10 STARS for Jena!!! She was also a lot of fun to talk to! She introduced me to her coworker Samatha who I absolutely adored!! She was funny and kind! I highly recommended stoping...
If you want to feel like your in Mexico eat at the Auburn Black Bear diner. I assume the manager speaking loudly to the all Spanish speaking cooks. He must of hired an all Hispanic staff. Two young girls waiting tables while the other 6 Hispanic employees are running around.
