The food and service here is amazing! We have been here a few times and were very impressed! The staff were so friendly and helpful. We have had the same server every visit and he was beyond amazing! The atmosphere is so cozy and warm and welcoming. I am so picky with food and I have absolutely loved everything I have eaten there. My goal is to have everything on the menu. I can't wait for my next visit! I highly recommend Max's.

This is a great place to stop to eat when the In N Out just below in the parking lot is too dang busy! Max's is part of the Max's chain out of SF originally. Known for saying on the door, "This is a bad place for a diet"! I agree, they'll offer huge portions of delicious food, from burgers and sandwiches to the famous Patty Melt. This will cost a little more than eating at the In N Out, but it's worth it more a nicer dining experience. Service is professional and the place has better cleaner restrooms!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service here. The food was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I had the rib eye, my wife had the salmon, all delicious! The waitress was excellent, helpful and friendly. This surpassed my expectations for a hotel restaurant. I would definitely return.

Maxes was recommended So I took a small party of 15 there, and was extremely pleasantly surprised. The prices are an extreme value with a Wonderful atmosphere. The service was very warm and welcoming and a joy to experance. At my table, we ordered everything from sandwiches to pastas to spicy chicken And all my friends and family really enjoyed their meal . If you have big party or just a couple please give Maxs a try … they have a wonderful bar and great food at prices you just can’t beat . Macs is highly recommended ?

Feb 6, 6pm reservation. The hummus starter, is store bought hummus. I had grandma’s honey chicken, it was dry chicken with Sysco instant mashed potatoes and sauce from a plastic jug, and $12 slice of store bought cheesecake. The server took the order while someone else served the food and had to auction off our food, there were only two of us. The order taker should serve the food to avoid this game of who had what dish, it’s not very professional. I never complain or send food back because I’m afraid of what will be done to it and I don’t want to be seen as a “Karen.” I just won’t return. Overall a very disappointing and expensive birthday meal.

We were seated immediately, and given our choice of booths. The service was fast, and the food delicious. Wine prices a bit high (lowest priced glass was $10) but a great place for s casual night out that is more quiet than most area restaurants.

My wife and I first came here to dine with friends. They really enjoy this restaurant and so do we. The food is excellent. I've had the reuben sandwich and the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. My wife always gets the pot pie. Staff is always friendly. Hey, sometimes ya just stick with what works!!

The hostesses were unsmiling, looked unhappy to be there, and gave the minimal greeting. Our waitress was amazing. She was friendly, conversational, helpful, and patient. The food was mediocre and overpriced for the quality. All the meat was undercooked even after requesting medium-well. Flavors were leaning toward bland. Our waitress was the best part of the whole experience.

This is a really nice restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Auburn. Of course it's great for travelers but wonderful for locals as well. I had a great Cobb Salad and my friend had kind of delicious shrimp dish, along with mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The bartender was our server because we ate in the bar and he recommended the top shelf Margarita, which was excellent.

This is the best place to stop traveling on I-80 to Tahoe. The sandwiches here are killer. The Patty Melt and the Pastrami are the best. Service is friendly too.
