We love Max's from SanFran. The food is very consistent, but the service has been questionalbe for the past 10 years of stopping in Auburn from Reno. Seems like they only cater to locals and don't care about travelers. Example: We were seated today. Cashier cleared and wiped table but did not set the table, give menus or even ask about drinks. Took another 15 minutes for our server to appear, and she only brought napkins. Took another 10 minutes to get menus and...
This is our go-to spot for a comfortable and solid American meal. They serve the freshest and the most savory cobb salad in a 10 mile radius. We like to order it with crumbled blue cheese and vinaigrette dressings, both made fresh in house. We also really enjoy their gigantic chicken pot pie, hot soups and desserts. The menu offers something for everyone. We also come for the luxuriously comfortable indoor seating and the quality service which are harder to find at places...
Excellent service and food. I had the best patty melt I may have ever eaten. This restraunt is associated with the Holiday Inn in Auburn. Although I live in Roseville, I will absolutely go back. I met a golfing buddy there who lives in Grass Valley. If you crave excellent service and sandwich type food, this is a must place to visit.
