The curb appeal of The Monkey Cat & reviews prompted us to give it a try & both of us were underwhelmed. Very slow (single server)on a Saturday at about 2 pm(day before holiday). Ordered the chicken parm sandwich on special & mac and cheese. The chicken parm on the dinner menu has received good reports, kinda similar execution on the sando on toasted sour dough except for the uneven brie cheese distribution, don't remember Ham?,ok flavor..meh. Side was some Luke warm French fries. Mac & Cheese, lightly cheesed, bacon, ok.. not memorable. Split both items with Mrs D Cute shaded patio area outside looks promising for summer beverages. Anyway, I want to come back for dinner, maybe we caught them on an off day .

Please never get rid of the blue cheese tomato bisque. It’s the best thing I’ve ever

Perfect date night at The Monkey Cat tonight. Very friendly yet professional- Cheyenne (& busser) made sure we were taken care of. Perfectly timed food....We Grazed on Seared Ahi which was stellar, Calamari that was excellent and the Vegie Stir fry with Coconut rice was delicious. But that Cream of Spinach soup left me wanting to lick the bowl... & have more!- kudos Chef Jose! We'll be back! Thanks for a great evening. -Chef Jenn S. (CCE, CEPC, ACE, Ret.) & Thom

We enjoyed a delicious dinner this evening at Monkey Cat which has been remodeled since our last visit. Our server was excellent and attentive which helped to make a nice evening. We were turned off when we discovered that the restaurant charged us an additional fee because we used a credit card. I have since discovered that this is, in fact , illegal in Ca for this to be done.

Great food (salmon and filet mignon) ! We ordered black coffee and crem brule for dessert. The coffee was old and tasted burnt. The custard in the crem brule was cold and not served warm like most restaurants. Despite the coffee and desert we would still go back there because the meal was so good!

We walked in on a pouring rainy Friday night and were seated right away up front where all the action is. Had an epic meal. Hubby had a chicken dish with two tequila shots and I enjoyed the best risotto with seafood! I had a delicious ginger beer too. We ordered carrot cake for dessert took it back to the hotel. Was sublime. Our wait staff Erica who rhymes with America was an absolute joy! She's a keeper!! In fact she deserves a raise. Our first time at this beautiful restaurant on the main drag of charming Auburn. The decor is fabulous even the bathrooms are cool! We are moving to Auburn and will definitely frequent this amazing restaurant. Kudos to all!!!

Stopped by for lunch. Good selection of sandwiches. We chose the TBLT and the 3 mini tacos plus fries. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Saturday. They were playing 80s music which we loved.

We went here for the first time on Valentines Evening. Food was fantastic. Will be going back for the Chicken Cordon Bleu! The service was great, prices are very fair. Cant wait to try this place again.Kid-friendliness: The have options for children that are not on the menu. Just ask.

The food, service and value was excellent. It's a little bit more noisy than I like and very bright. If you are looking for something intimate, this isn't the place. If you're looking for delicious food and drink with excellent service you will find it here. Do watch your step going to the bathroom, the floor is wonky and there's a few trip hazards that need to be addressed.

My husband had the filet and I had the chicken cordon bleu. Both fantastic. The Very sexy martini was delicious. We also had the Carmel cheesecake and tiramisu. Both also delicious.

Great food. A little pricey especially the drinks. Had shrimp and beef tacos on Taco Tuesday. Nice place because they offer more than the burger/fries sports bar thing. An actual good restaurant which seems harder to find these days. .
