Yeah, um, not good. We had a green tea gelato and a chocolate gelato. The green tea was goopy and just not right. We threw it away after one bite. The chocolate one kinda had ice crystals in it and did not have the same taste/feel as gelato. We love Gelato and eat it pretty much exclusively over ice cream but the gelato here was just not good. We did not try the ice cream. I'd give it one star, but the staff was great and so they get a star for that.

Best ice cream I've ever had! Homemade at its best. Their triple chocolate gelato is the best chocolate ice cream Ever! Hot fudge banana sundae was also very good. This is a must when visiting Catalina island. Conveniently located on crescent street next to all of the tourists shops.

My friend and I walked by this ice cream shop right when we got to Catalina. We saw all the flavors and were intrigued by it. My friend is a fan of ice cream and wanted a specific flavor but we didn't know that their list actually is composed of both their gelato and ice cream flavors. Therefore, she was a little disappointed when she went to order to find that it was gelato and not ice cream (she isn't a fan of the texture of gelato). Regardless, she and I both got something. My friend tried to asked if they had smaller scoops besides the single scoop like a kid's scoop. The guy scooping said they did but it was very small like half the size of the scoop. My friend wanted to opt for the kid's scoop but he said that it wouldn't be enough and told her to stick to the single scoop. Instead of discussing it farther, she just stuck with the single scoop of ice cream. She ended up throwing half of it away because it was too much for her. I ended up ordering a lemon berry gelato in a cup ($7). The lemon and berry were a good combination. It was actually harder in consistency than her ice cream. My gelato wasn't very sweet which I appreciated and the ingredients seemed fresh. The price however, seemed a little steep for what it was but we are also on an island, so I guess that also means prices are higher than if you were just in LA alone.

You can't miss this place as it's one the ice cream places with the line out the door. We waited a few minutes and it seems like a mess with the Starbucks line right next to it. I had to drop the rating because the server gave us melted ice cream that was dripping when she handed it to us. We asked for a new one and she said that's all she had and moved on to the next customer. If my kid didn't like strawberry that much, i would have left the cone on the table and walked off.

Ice cream was good but service was bad! Saw that this place was the most popular ice cream shop on Catalina and was excited but was let down by the bad service. No testers, no customization, which I guess is fine but the way the server said it was plain rude. For whatever reason, the server wouldn't even look at me -- he only talked to my husband. Not sure what that was about. Went to Sailor's down the street the next day and it was so much better, save your money and head down the street instead!

I ordered a caramel frappachino and it had no flavor. Had my friend confirm this as well. Couldn’t return as I had a ship to catch. I wonder if this is because I chose not to tip in advance. ?

Absolutely delicious! I was visiting Catalina Island on a cruise and this ice cream spot caught my eye while strolling around the shops downtown. I really enjoyed the banana pudding ice cream! They also offered a variety of gelato and Starbucks drinks. Conveniently located right on the main street of Avalon you can't miss it! Walk across the street to enjoy it with a beautiful view of the water!!

Best Ice cream ever!!! Homemade Gelato and ice cream. An array of flavors. The shop was cute, very touristy. Service was okay, but I wasn't expecting much. Stopped here while on my cruise. I tried the Caramel Crunch flavor and I could have eaten an entire tube. My friends tried another ice cream shop and there was no comparison!!

Really delicious ice cream in Catalina island. The pistachio flavor was amazing. The cookies and cream was also yummy. The prices are reasonable especially since they give you a pretty big scoop. The shop is clean and the view outside is beautiful. It was a nice last stop on our Catalina trip.

With plenty of choices for ice cream on the island, Scoops is the clear winner of the category. The ice cream we had was mouthwatering! Rocky Road & Strawberry are two of my all time favorite flavors & most of the time both are super sweet & sugary. These were not that at all! Most of the time, the chocolate weighs you down but Scoop's Rocky Road was so light, I could've eaten a whole tub. Same goes for the Strawberry, tasted so much fresh strawberry & not at all the factory made flavor. Ugh couldn't get enough of it. Got the waffle cone bowl with those two flavors with about 2 scoops each. Very generous portions & our total was only $11.50. Line was a little long around the afternoon, but it moved quickly. They had other desserts as well & served a few Starbucks options. Scoops is a MUST HAVE when on Cataline Island.

I got 2 pink drinks from the Starbucks part of the shop and they were the worst drinks I've ever had. They were purple, not pink and had an awful flavor. Plus they up charged each drink to $8 for a grande. The service was awful and they clearly have no idea how to make a pink drink. So glad I wasted $16 on purple water.
