I've been buying Menudo for a while now and they give me scrambled Menudo that they have left over from days ago... Today I placed an order for Menudo and when I called I asked them if the Menudo was from today or if they had mixed it with what they had left over. days ago because I already had to put my order like this and of course the person told me that it was from today, I trusted his word and I placed my order and to my surprise arriving home I actually had mixed avian Menudo from today with the one from the previous day and it is unfair to pay the price that they charge you to give you a meal this unpleasant with the meat with a horrible flavor and everything hard, runny...I loved the Menudo in this place but I no longer believe Go back there, and even if you order by call, they make you line up with the people who have not ordered. I have never seen a place where you have ordered and you have to wait half an hour or more in line for them to deliver an order that you have already placed. in advance and sometimes even after training and waiting they tell you that your order is not ready yet...

Made a pit stop here with my co-worker. The town doesn't receive a lot of visitors so when you open the door and walk into the restaurant, it may look close because the lights are off and you might not see anyone. But don't fear, it is open - just say "hello" very loud. This is a small mom and pop shop so the waitress will be taking your order and then making your food afterwards too. Not pictured, we're the tacos and I must say that the tacos were amazing especially the chile verde! Next is the fried tilapia and it was fried to perfection! Very moist with a nice browning. I only wish that it was seasoned with salt. The side dishes were just okay and weren't the best. But, I will definitely come back here to support the business and try other things or come back for the tacos!

Waze directed us out of the way of traffic into Avenal. It ended up being the scenic route. It looks kind of sketchy from outside almost like it was closed or they didn't want you to come inside. Even though no one else was in the dining room at 11am Saturday morning July 1st of holiday weekend they said I couldn't bring my well behaved dog inside. She had to stay in the car in the heat with the ac running. Inside the restaurant was warm because there is no air conditioning just a swamp cooler. They were out of a lot of things Chile verde etc. The tortillas tasted home made. Big and thick. The shrimp ceviche was good only 4.50 but heavy on cucumber onion avocado light on shrimp. The Chile relleno was kind of strange. It had a big white block of Mexican cheese queso fresco inside. It was ok. I didn't finish it. The bean tostada for my wife was small and expensive $5. The prices on the wall were lower than what they charged. They said they were updating the menu. They sent us a receipt on my phone in Spanish. Two people $27 not cheap. There's several of other Mexican places in town to choose from we'll try next.

Their food is super duper good here. Unfortunately the service is the complete opposite. They're scattered brain, unorganized and don't speak any English.

"Went and got a bowl of menudo, the bowl had 2 flies in it which I realized only after eating some of it... when I reported that the food came with flies in it I was told I wouldn't have to pay for it but I wasn't even offered a new bowl which I probably wouldn't have accepted anyways because I was already disgusted, even to the point where I had to vomit."

They should of started the phone conversation with the current wait time I made a super long order and then told me it was a 1 hr wait or more Didn't end up eating there afterall.

Good service. Good prices. Great food. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for good Mexican fare. This is the place.

The food is authentic, not reheated El Pato from a 303 can. The furniture is plain and the customers know what authentic food should be like. The wall menu prices are out of date, the table service informal. There is no pretending. This is grandma's cooking

Waited 45 minutes for, what should have been, a 10 minute egg breakfast! My order was not what I had ordered. Eggs were not over medium, we didn't get our drinks, and when I told the waitress that our order was wrong, she just sneered and dropped the plates on the table and walked away. She didn't even offer to rectify our order. We just got up and walked out without paying.
