Last time we were there was 32 years ago before we moved back to Idaho. Have to say the food was as good as we remembered. Only thing that was missing was to say hi to JB and Marie. Highly recommend Chalet Basque!!

This is the place if I have cravings for Cabbage soup. We always have it to go. Even they change ownership but the flavor still the same. The guy that took our order was nice. And the place is clean. I bet some food are delicious. And also the fried chicken was delicious. I'll order than next time Definitely will be back again.

Where is the "Roasted Bone Marrow" that you advertise on your television commercials, and how much is it?

Chalet Basque is a classic Bakersfield restaurant! The staff was awesome! My dad and I hung out with them for several hours! The rack of lamb was perfect! Thank you!

All their lunches are excellent and if you like lamb you can't go wrong. The service is outstanding. Just a little bright for my taste but I understand many people like to see exactly what they're eating and drinking because even the lounge is bright. It must be the owners preference.

We are not from Bakersfield, but we stop in whenever we can on our travels. It's right off the highway, so it's very convenient. You need to try it if you've never had Basque food. It's served family style (they bring each dish out to your table in bowls to be dished out by you in whatever portions you want). It's basically home-cooked comfort food. Since the last time we stopped by, it was taken over by new ownership, but the food and atmosphere were the same (aside from the fact that there was a bit of a Latin flare). It's a large restaurant and a lot of people were there. That tells you it's good. There's a full bar, too.
