Would of been nice if the restaurant had updated that it's closed before I drove here .

This restaurant is permanently closed!!!! Walked 20 minutes to get there to figure this out then walked another 20 minutes to find someplace else. Why don't you delist this place if it is closed for good!!!!

My friends and I showed up here for brunch yesterday after perusing the menu we thought this would be a great farm to table to spend second Saturday; menu was promising mimosas looked cheap all the works for a new favorite local spot. We were seated with the one menu that was given to us when we walked in; about twenty minutes later, after we all decided what we likely wanted to eat one of the waitresses for THE FIRST TIME came up apologized and said she would get us waters. We were understanding and stated it was okay- I worked in the service industry a while so I know how it is. Another Twenty minutes passed we still did not even have our waters let alone our drink orders taken; confused we asked a different waitress if we were supposed to order at the register and she said “no we take your order at the table” and said she’d be right back. Twenty minutes after this and Forty-five minutes after we had been initially seated and no order was taken, no waters were brought, and no menus were given my friends and I decided to leave; it appeared busy but there is no excuse to hit even approach your customers or even give waters after 45 minutes. This does seem like a good restaurant and hopefully this was a minor fluke but further I do not know if I will want to return here in the future

How can they close their doors??? I'm saddened by this. Great atmosphere and food was always fresh and delicious.

The food here is good and I love that so much of it of locally grown. They also have a great vibe. But I feel like after they re opened (following the initial covid closure) the food has been a bit stingy. I got pancakes at brunch today which cost $14. Perfectly fine price. But the menu says it comes with fresh cream and local fruit. It did come with the cream but the fresh fruit was literally 1.5 strawberries cut into 3 pieces. I mean, of your advertising "fresh fruit"as part of the dish you should expect to be able to have a little with each bite. This should have said "garnished" with a fresh strawberry.

First visit but not last. Food was very good. Like atmosphere. Excellent location, downtown. Plenty of parking

A friendly knowledgeable server named Tim suggested I try the scallops as a starter. They were fantastic. I ended up ordering a bottle of Caymus a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon. My server also suggested I try the ribeye and I'm sure glad I did it was cooked to perfection and came with these wonderful potatoes on the side. I had a wonderful evening and plan on returning. Tim really knew his menu and made my first experience at this establishment a Memorable one.

A newer and much smaller (dinner) menu with almost no vegetarian options (1 main). We sat "en plein air" and our waiter was professional with great service, as it always is in the better restaurants in Bakersfield. But our experience these last couple of times marks in our opinion a different restaurant than it used to be pre-pandemic, particularly with food consistency. We do recognize that these are tough times for businesses so we wish the entire team the best of luck.

I visited Dot x Ott over a half-dozen times for lunch and dinner over an extended time in Bakersfield, and was pleased with my meal at every visit. The food and drink are all well put together: fresh, well-plated, and delicious. Items that stuck with me (though keep in mind their menu is seasonal...which is a good thing): Their charcuterie board is generous and well-selected. The salads were all fresh. I had a great braided rib. Their cod tacos and Korean BBQ Beef sandwich are good lunch items. The house made potato chips are good as well. I'm particularly fond of their sangria. I think dinner service was an overall smoother experience, but the staff was courteous and accommodating at all points. They understand the concept of a restaurant being a hospitality industry in addition to food & drink. It's a good restaurant and worth supporting in Bakersfield.

My husband and I are randomly in Bakersfield and I landed on this restaurant simply because it was dog-friendly and walking distance from the Padre Hotel. Omg, it was amazing! My husband had the special - a pork dish. He said it was one of the best pork dishes he's ever had. I eat primarily vegan / vegetarian and ordered the crispy cauliflower. It was so good!!! Like 100x better than what I expected. If you're familiar with Bergdorf's Cauliflower in NYC, this is like the California equivalent. Seriously, this restaurant is good and not just for Bakersfield. If this place was in West Hollywood or Beverly Hills, we would eat here weekly.

After hearing good things about Dot x Ott we decided to give them a try. Oh my gosh!!! There were 6 in our party and EVERYONE raved about their meal selections. Will we return? Absolutely! The menu is limited, but had great options. #dotxott @dotxott

I had my baby shower here last Saturday and it was PERFECT. From the start of planning, until the day of the event DotxOtt made it the best (and easiest) experience anyone could ask for. Nick the manager was a delight! He was so accommodating and helped me from step one. All of the staff that I met were impeccable. The Chef was so nice, and totally handled a couple curve balls (vegan meals) and some menu changes (I don’t eat bacon- weird I know) at the last minute like a champ. The two ladies that helped throughout the party were so nice, helpful, and genuinely good people to have around. One thing that people cannot stop talking about was the FOOD. Our menu consisted of deviled eggs, charcuterie, salads, Korean bbq sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, frittata, French toast, roasted potatoes, homemade cookies, and peaches or strawberry’s w/ whipped cream and biscuits. My personal favorites were the Beet and Strawberry salad (can’t go wrong with that flavor profile), the deviled eggs (not your average eggs- they may have looked traditional but they were packed with flavor) the Korean bbq sandwiches (spicy in all the right ways!) and the FRENCH TOAST (I don’t know how that strawberry drizzle was made but it was mouth watering- they couldn’t keep these on the table fast enough). It was the perfect menu for the perfect party. Thank you for everything! We will be back soon!

Fantastic meal. Had the shrimp and grits and the short rib gnocchi and not only was were they delicious they were amazingly thought out. The gnocchi was pillow soft and the dish had bits of croton for texture and crunch to help make it a pretty well rounded dish. This restaurant reminded me of something I'd find back home in sonoma county.

Had an amazing experience dining here. I'm so glad they reopened because we were fans before and it's still just as fantastic! We had the salmon with herb risotto and romesco sauce and the riccotta gnocchi with braised short rib. They were both absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back!

This was a random find for us arriving late to Bakersfield due to an accident on the Grapevine that added 3 hours to our travels. The food from Dot x Ott was fabulous!! Very fresh & tasty! We enjoyed a delicious Gnocchi with short ribs & a lovely heirloom tomato salad with burrata & pesto. I would definitely dine here again on a trip through Bakersfield!
