Pastries were ok, but giving them one star for customer service. I visited the establishment with my son this past Saturday. Two workers were present when we walked in. No acknowledgment of our presence, given that they both were "assisting" a customer, however they had time to acknowledge the food delivery person. A simple statement like, "hi, welcome in; we'll be right with you," would have gone such a long way! I guess we were not their target demographic!!!

Wow, is Bakersfield ever lucky to have this place! The shop's story sounds like the set-up for a Hallmark movie: classically trained pastry chef trained in Paris returns to her small town roots to start a small bakery. Bakersfield is the happy beneficiary with this awesome shop. Fantastic pies and cookies. I've heard the cakes are even better. You must check this place out!!

Beautiful Bakery, nice staff. Something that needs to be considered, though, is that they need to fill up their cases more throughout the morning, they don't. I will continue to give them my business as the baked goods are delicious!
I ordered a half dozen of chocolate chip cookies as a gift and a snicker doodle for myself. These were the best cookies I’ve had in Bakersfield! They were just the right amount of sweet and the texture was perfect. I’ll be returning when I come back to town.

First time here. Got the maple walnut scone, lemon tart, chocolate shortbread, and the cranberry orange biscotti. All were delicious! The scones were the perfect texture, not dry or crumbly. The lemon tart was exactly what I wanted; tart, sweet, and with a yummy crust. The chocolate shortbread was layered with rich, smooth dark chocolate. The cranberry orange biscotti (one of my favorite flavor combos) was fabulous; sturdy, not break-a-tooth hard and plenty of fruit pieces. Well done, GhilaDolci! I hope Bakersfield treats you right!

I found out about this bakery from a friend and after having tried their cakes from multiple parties, I knew I wanted to place an order! I ordered a 2 tier cake for my niece's fiesta themed birthday party. It was very easy to order and received fast email responses. The cake design was beyond my expectations. (Not pictured is the inside of the cake) I ordered an Oreo with salted caramel buttercream filling which was absolutely amazing!The inside of the bakery gave a welcoming and homey feeling with the delicious smell of sweets. I knew I HAD to get something for myself to try.The owner was kind enough to carry the cake and place a non skid mat on the bottom of the cake to refrain it from sliding (I had a 30 min drive home). The cake made it in one piece!Highly recommend this bakery, you won't be disappointed!
