I dropped in last week for lunch after seeing this place had opened. I went for a Chile Verde burrito because I'm a big lover. The Chile Verde itself was decent, the pork was a little overcooked but the sauce had good flavor and a touch of heat. My big issue was the tortilla. They grilled it before makin the burrito but it was burned in some areas, not just slightly overdone but burned (black) and it impacted the taste significantly. Several bites all I could taste was the burnt tortilla. Because it was black there's no reason that should have been missed when they were making the burrito, I may give it another go one day but I won't be rushing back. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food came out pretty quickly so I have no issue with that.

Costumer service is good not the food they offered us chips n salsa n they give us the a spoon worth of salsa we ordered burritos the tortilla was cold n the meats were to salty the salsa bar was literally empty the little bit of salsa I got was tasteless and it was still during lunch time I ordered a Chile relleno in the side the sides were cold the middle was extremely hot I didn't pay 38 dollars for microwave food I asked if they were owned by La Fonda restaurant n he sed it was better there .... sorry it wasn't my sister n didn't even finish the food horrible lunch.. overpriced for nothing

My usual approach on my 1st stop at a mexican restaurant I have never eaten at before is to keep it simple and see if simple items are good. I got a bean and cheese burrito with samples of different hot sauces. What a score! Excellent beans, great tortilla, nicely grilled, the hot red sauce had a kick with much flavor. An instant favorite!!! Have been back multiple times since, expanded our order, everything has been to our liking with great Friendly service as well!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!

Stopped by for a quick bite. Ordered an asada tostada. Very fresh and delicious. Unlike most asada, which is usually finely chopped, this dish contains good sized strips of meat. Great salsas, especially the red one made from chile seco. The salsa verde was also delicious. Service was great too. Very friendly staff. The ambiance is essentially the same as when the restaurant was a branch of La Fonda. The menu board is the same one.

We stopped in on a very hot Saturday afternoon. It was nearly 100 degrees outside and it was nice to step into their air conditioned restaurant. The place is not fancy at all and there is a full bar as well. You order at the counter and then choose your own table and they bring the food to you. To drink I had one the coldest and tastiest micheladas ever! This was brought out in a big very cold mason jar mug and comprised a perfect balance of ice, beer, and miche mix. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I ordered a fish taco and a coctel de camaron. Both had plenty of meat and were delicious and flavorful as well as plentifully portioned. My son felt the same about his red enchiladas served with rice and beans. We cleaned our plates and slurped up our drinks to the last drop. So yummy! We will definitely be back the next time we're in Bakersfield. Staff was pleasant, service was prompt, and they play good Spanish music. Lastly, while we were waiting on our food an unhoused man walked to the front counter to ask for water. It was HOT outside and staff respectfully asked him if he also wanted ice in the cup or not. I appreciate their kindness.

The last review I did apparently was at the old name so La Fonda is, I am assuming, now La Plebada.
