When in for lunch, I ordered the Magnolia Burger... excellent burger! The bun has a "homemade flavor", it's a great take on the traditional burger lettuce, tomato cheese and their own twist with the caramelized onion! Fresh cut fries that do not taste like they were fried in cheap oil. Have to try the pastries! I had a banana pudding stuffed cookie. I cannot say enough great things about Magnolia Kitchen and their team. I was coordinating a very large and complex catering order for an EVS Celebration Day at a hospital in Bakersfield, which included nearly 100 meals, six different delivery time slots, and two separate locations. Magnolia Kitchen is a favorite spot in Bakersfield. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made, and the drinks are just as impressive. The food was great, with excellent food and great atmosphere. Portion size is perfect. Prices are comparable, in some cases better than average. Everything is made in house, so it's worth whatever the price. No processed foods to be found. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere feels welcoming, and the atmosphere has a small Southern diner vibe.
The fries and burger were amazing, with fresh cut fries that do not taste like they were fried in cheap oil. The Magnolia Burger is an excellent burger with a "homemade flavor" bun and their own twist with the caramelized onion. The Patty Melt on Sourdough was the best, with grilled onions and cheese with 2 meat patties. The Cubano was excellent as well, one of the better ones tasted. The Cobb salad with chicken was so good with a homemade ranch.
Desserts are unbelievably addicting. The Banana pudding Biscoff was the top dessert, followed by the Pistachio Cherry Cake and then the German chocolate cake. Pastries offer something different every day, so you always know you’re getting fresh items. The banana pudding stuffed cookie was great. For a place known more for sweets, their food is great. Will definitely be returning.
