What a gem this place is! Delicious sizzling tofu, crispy chicken and garlic rice! Amazing customer service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. I didn't catch a photo of the booths but seating is plentiful and comfortable too !

We are here almost 2x a week until we realized that the quality is getting worse. We will try again in a couple of weeks and it won't get any better. Until we finally had it. The crispy pata doesn't have taste at all if not for the sauce. The nilaga is like rubber, we took home and needed 1.5 hours of boiling before it can be enjoyed. It isn't hit and miss anymore > ONLY MISS😔
SEVERS ARE ALWAYS PLEASANT♡

Good food, good portions. The adobo could be less oily though and could have been better parts of the chicken. The sinigang na bangus was pretty good and beef stroganoff was pretty tender.

I’ve been wanting to try this place. Quick background in my experience with Filipino food. Grew up in LA and had LA Filipino food. Moved to Bakersfield about 4 years ago and haven’t really found any.
This was my first time there and I wanted to try a little bit of everything and do the lunch special. It was a Saturday afternoon and they told me that is only a special during the weekdays. The person in the front said she would make an exception because it was my first time and I was
It was delicious, the lumpia, chicken, pancit, and even the steam rice(hit was perfectly cooked and so light). The pancit can often be too salty for my taste, and this one was perfect. The chicken tasted like Mexican CHICHARRON (amazing). The only complaint was the thigh was pretty small, but because it was so good I was fine with it. I will definitely be coming back or catering.
Always excellent service. Best filipino options in town. Kare kare is delicious. Everything is a must try here.
Took my wife here a few days ago for dinner. We really enjoyed the food. Everything was great. Thank you very much.

Over priced Filipino food my grandma cooks better than this restaurant. If you want real Filipino food I suggest you find a Filipino friend and eat at their house.
We loved the staff and their recommendations for our first time visiting. The portions for a large are family size, so be prepared to take extra people or have leftovers. Don't skip out on the dessert. The leche flan is delicious. Be patient as well food is made to order so wait times can be long.

One of the standout aspects of my visit was the great staff. They were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring our needs were well taken care of throughout our dining experience. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the overall enjoyment.
Of course, the star of the show is undoubtedly the amazing Filipino food. Max's delivers on the promise of authentic flavors and well-executed dishes. We had the pleasure of trying a few classics, and each one was a delight. The [mention a specific dish you enjoyed, e.g., crispy pata] was perfectly cooked with incredibly crispy skin and tender meat. The [mention another dish, e.g., sinigang] had that signature sour and savory broth that was both comforting and flavorful. Every bite transported me straight to the Philippines.
Whether you're a long-time fan of Filipino food or looking to try it for the first time, Max's in Bakersfield is a fantastic choice. The combination of a clean and inviting ambiance, exceptional service, and truly delicious and authentic dishes makes for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend giving Max's a visit – your taste buds will thank you!
I ordered food delivery to my hotel. I was so excited to have my Filipino dish. As I was having my third spoon full, I was showing and I felt crunchy and I thought it was a bone from the meat because I ordered nilagang baka, So disgusting because when I spit it out Found out that it's a plastic that looks like from a broken fork. This is ridiculous! I spent almost $60 including charges And not having to enjoy your food I ordered. I wouldn't recommend ordering food from this place anymore. They might probably recycling leftovers from customers that dining in the Restaurant...unsanitary!!! nakakahiya!!!!
