Everyone at our table loved eating at the Phoenix. The setting was beautiful. The salmon was superb, fish and chips were excellent, and pasta dish was delicious. Hope to go back soon.

The Phoenix was an excellent dining experience. It's is upstairs so you have a nice view (there is an elevator). The service was just perfect (Zachary) as he was present but never overbearing. He was professional but also joked with us. The food was worthy of a return trip! We started with Royalty cocktails that were very refreshing. We had stuffed jalapeños for an appetizer and then our dinner salad that was mixed greens, roasted pears, dried cranberries, feta, glazed walnuts and champagne vinaigrette. It was a welcome change from iceberg lettuce and tomato. Even their dinner rolls were special. My husband had the Ribeye with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables with garlic-herb butter. I had the Steak frites. We saved room for dessert and shared a butter pound cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. It was amazing! The portions were generous and we had leftovers to take home. We will be going back soon to try some of the other dinner choices that include seafood, pasta, and even some casual options such as burgers and sandwiches. The Phoenix is a gem of a restaurant and we highly recommend it!

Dinner for our party of 5 was amazing! Zachary our server was exceptional, he was very attentive and didn’t miss a beat. Allowed for a very relaxing dinner and very helpful with menu choices. We had the garlic shrimp and pear with Brie appetizers - amazing! We had seafood pasta, teriyaki salmon, and Capellini for dinner - amazing, then the butter cake and flourless chocolate cake for desert - amazing!! Our drinks were incredible and we had the best experience!! Can’t wait to go again 😁. Forgot to take pics - bummer!

I guess they have finally realized their mistake when they bought the rights to the petroleum club name. They have now renamed this the Phoenix room. Some new menu options, and really great service. Definitely would recommend

The place looked nice. Great view. Great decor. It wasn't overly loud. The food was pretty good. The servers were fantastic and professional.

Lovely restaurant. Jazz on Tuesdays so noise is moderate. Otherwise it is quiet and elegant.

I Called the Phoenix at Sundale a few weeks ago to inquire about a special birthday for my wife and 10 of her closest friends ! I was Lucky to be assisted by the banquet manager named Kristin , she assured me our group of 12 would be no problem on the upcoming Friday nights event . We all met up the really lovely bar area for a pre dinner cocktail , it’s a very comfortable nice bar area with a view of the golf course that added to ambiance for sure. excellent craft cocktails all around! We were seated after an unhurried time for the dinner segment to begin , service was provided by Mr Zackery our attentive server . He proceeded to take all the orders and got all served in a timely manner , kept all water glasses full took the drink orders etc. between us I think we a good sampling of the menu and it all looked great ! BTW not one complaint from this large group and that’s saying something now days ….. we highly recommend the dinner service at the Phoenix and will be going back ASAP . All in a very happy birthday for my beautiful wife. Thanks again Phoenix

Loved our second experience at Phoenix! We were celebrating the anniversary of our first date 32 years ago. Our wait staff, Ethan, was wonderful, professional, helpful and entertaining. He made the night extra special and by the way the food was delicious. We can't wait to return.

Best place for fine dining date night in Bakersfield by far. We'll priced and perfect drinks.

Seems like there's no order or organization. we sat 7:45pm, they were kinda full, not busy, waitress didn't attempt to take any type of food order till almost 9. They had no clue wha table ordered what. They just kept walking around with food on tray asking each table what they had ordered. When food arrived my teriyaki salmon plate was BARELY warm. While my wife's plate was so hot it was as if it was just removed from a microwave. Took another 20 minutes to get a soda. Us and 2 other tables all had to put our hands up to catch the attention of the wait staff. Just seemed like chaos. Won't be returning

Dined at the Petroleum Club on 12-11-24 for a holiday dinner with a group of eight. Made reservations 2 months ahead of time. When we arrived our table was in the Bar as there was a Rotary function in the dining room. I chose this restaurant specifically for the ambience of the dining room, not to sit in the bar. I'm really disappointed the restaurant didn't contact me about their large party so I could have gone to a restaurant and not have to sit in the bar. Food wise, I had steak frites which was very tough and inedible. Another party ordered a filet rare and was served well done and had to wait for another steak. Overall not a good experience for a holiday get together.

We had a lovely dinner last night at the Petroleum Club. The view out on the golf course at dusk was beautiful. The tables were set beautifully with black tablecloths, beautiful gold chargers, and sparkling crystal. The wait staff was attentive, but not intrusive. They did a great job anticipating our needs. The menu is diverse, with a good selection of options for casual and fine dining. There are many options for people following a plant based diet.

My dining companions tried the clam chowder. They thoroughly enjoyed it, reporting that it was creamy, full of clams, and nicely seasoned. They both followed the soup with the salmon salad. The salad itself was a nice mix of different lettuces, fruit, and veggies, topped with a very nice size portion of salmon. They both enjoyed it very much. I had the plant based Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and veggies. I believe the Salisbury steak was a house made veggie patty. It was flavorful and the texture and crust were very nice. I will look forward to eating that again someday! My companions then shared a raspberry cheesecake with a chocolate crust. They reported that it was delicious.

Upcoming events in October include a wine pairing and Sunday brunches.

All in all this is a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal. I look forward to doing so in the near future!
