Closed for renovations in September. Looks nice from the outside, though.

I loved coming here with my friends back then but now it's sadly closed. What a wonderful place this truly was. Even the food was amazing!

I drive from L.A. just for these burgers and a trip down memory lane. I hope they open soon and keep the old vibe. Best Burgers in town.

Loved the burgers, but the spot. I really hope this place stays put. Quick and friendly service. Love to walk around and check out all the nick-knacks and oddities

Good Old Fashioned Cheeseburger. Everything was fresh and made to order. The place filled up quick. There was a line outside even before opening. It was nice to be able to enjoy some good food, then walk into the store connecting to the diner and look though the antiques.

AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! 5 STARS! Please call for latest updates as they are Remodeling! It's Time to jump into The TimeMobile & scour the Earth & take you to places from a different time that you won't believe still exist. We have set the dial to the 1950's in the town of Bakersfield CA. We have landed at The Woolworth Diner. THIS IS THE LAST WOOLWORTH'S OPERATING LUNCHEONETTE COUNTER IN AMERICA! Yup there's still one left! I hope the city of Bakersfield or the state of California landmarks this place, as it should be preserved for future generations. The restaurant is a little more than a 1 & 1/2 hours North of LA in Bakersfield CA. I have had this place bookmarked for ages but have never ended up heading in this direction for some reason. I heard the Antique Store was closing so I called & they said the Diner was still open. So I had to drop everything & take a trip up here. The original Woolworth's signs on the exterior & interior are all still here intact. They are BEAUTIFUL! The name on the sidewalk is still engraved. They were indeed hauling out vintage items & antiques. This was an old Woolworth's that they turned into an Antique store called the Five & Dime Antique Mall. The new owners were closing the Mall part & not sure what's going to go in there but they said they were keeping the restaurant. That's Great News! Now this is a great time to see what a still existing Woolworth's store looks like all emptied out. Woolworth's was an all in one retail store that sold a little bit of everything. It was one of the original pioneers of the five-and-dime store concept. Before there was The Dollar Store there was Woolworth's. It was among the most successful American & international five & dime businesses. The operation began on February 22, 1879 in Utica, New York. Woolworth's was a unique store back in the day & at its peak had thousands of stores nationwide. There is nothing quite like it today. It was a combination of a Vintage Coffee Shop & hangout like Starbucks. It was also a 50's Diner so you could eat all your meals or just drop by for a burger & shake. It was also a mini Target that you could get pretty much everything you needed from clothes to candy to toys & household items all rolled into one place. IT WAS A REAL ONE STOP! Ask any family members if they remember Woolworth's. Sadly it went defunct in July 1997. It didn't entirely go away however & morphed & changed directions & became Foot Locker which is still around today. It was also instrumental in the civil rights movement but that's a whole different story. Anyway exploring the pretty much empty Woolworth's store was AWESOME & a RARE Opportunity! The Lunch Counter is still here & serving Food. IT WAS PRETTY AMAZING! THIS PLACE IS REALLY A ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE & THE LAST ONE IN THE WHOLE USA. This is not a Fake 50's restaurant but a real 50's authentic diner. There's a Black & White checkerboard floor with red & Chrome seats & a luncheonette counter. There are Vintage signs along with some replicas too. The equipment is all stainless steel & vintage. I got the Cheeseburger & Fries & Upgraded to a Chocolate Shake. This is one of their most popular items that the waitress recommended. Everything was Great! 4 & 1/3 Stars for the Food but extra bonus points for the Unbelievably Cool Place & Experience! And the people who work here are so Cool with Jeremy the manager at the helm. With their outfits on, I swear they all look like they were plucked out of the 60s & 70s & brought forward in time. Seriously So Cool! A Real Back to the Future Moment! Walk all around & check out the whole place & downstairs too. I definitely want to come back here more often. This place is So Cool! I'm also looking forward to the remodel. HOPEFULLY they will keep the integrity of the structure inside & outside in tact & put someth

It was our first, and last time. Once we were seated I was informed they would be closing their doors in 2 days. It was a delicious meal, best chocolate shake I have ever had. Wish I knew about it sooner.
