El Espino Restaurant offers delicious and authentic Salvadoran food, with dishes like pupusas, tamales, yuca con chicharron, and more. The flavors are excellent and not greasy, making it a great option for those looking for tasty food closer to home. The restaurant has a loyal customer base and is considered a hidden gem in the area. The owner is an excellent person, very humble and a very good cook. She cooks the best of all the others and makes her employees treat people well. The yuca con chicharon has a lemony taste in the curtido. Pupusas are ok, they lack flavor, but when combined with the curtido and salsa, they are at a whole different level of delicious. The curtido that night was very flavorful. The empanadas were good and the fry fish plate was tasty as well. The fried plantains are loved. While the service may be a bit slow, the savory food like carne asada plates and pupusas make it worth the wait. They also offer discounts on certain days and parking is convenient and safe. Overall, El Espino is a solid choice for those seeking traditional Central American cuisine without having to travel far.
