Hickman Family Vineyard is a small Vineyard but with a truly big love for their guests and it shows from the moment you step into the wine tasting room. Tod the owner goes out of his way to greet each guest as they arrive and is available for questions anytime. There is also a kids play area and camping if you enjoyed the wine a little to much. I've toured Napa and Sonoma Valley wineries several times over the years, but never knew how much I didn't know about wine. Gideon took us through his process, which is less of a "process" than it is his life, and gave us a thorough understanding of what wine can be, if given the opportunity. He and his wife farm, harvest, crush (manually using their feet), bottle, etc, all themselves (for the most part). That level of intimate knowledge shines through in the finished product, creating a truly unique taste and style that my words are inadequate to convey. This is how wine should be crafted.“
