Left Barstow in 2007. Tried many Mexican Mom & Pop places from Kansas City Mo, to Houston TX, to Dallas/Ft Worth TX. Most of them would’ve been ok had we never known Platas, but they do fail in comparison. Happy to come home and still have this deliciousness available!!!❤️

Delicious as always! Tried the menudo from then and it was DELICIOUS 10/10 recommend, I also love their Chilaquiles Verdes and their taquitos the burritos so delicious love going to platas never disappointed

I had called in for three burritos and two drinks they told me 10 minutes so I gave them 15 minutes plus the drive so about 25 or 26 minutes I arrived they confirmed my order still had to wait another 25 or 30 minutes just for my food on top of that still got one of my burritos wrong and. Had to wait another 15 minutes for them to give me my drinks I do not recommend this place. I would go to the one on Main Street by the Burger King they’re way better and for some reason cheaper

The food was amazing and the people are the nicest I've ever met. All the tortillas and chips are made fresh before they bring them to you, piping hot. 11/10 experience. Highly recommend.

I've been visiting this place since 1979, never had bad service or food. The burrito is big enough for 2. I was lucky enough to chat with the founders granddaughter. She was an amazing young lady. Her values for life and business were outstanding. Please pray for her uncle Coco.

On our drive from Vegas to Newport Beach, we made a quick stop in Barstow for lunch. One of my husband's co-workers grew up in Barstow and suggested that we stop lunch at Platas Mexican restaurant. He grew up in Barstow right behind this restaurant years ago and said this is the most happening spot with great home cooked Mexican meals. He was right! They did not disappoint... I would recommend this establishment to anyone in the Barstow area, especially if you're just passing through.

The food was really good actually, the waitress was welcoming. Just one thing, please invest in some door fan to keep the flies out. While we were dining in, there were about 5 flies on the window glass near us. Don't want to think of flies in the kitchen...
