I like Foster Freeze, no serious complaints but there REALLY NEEDS to be a standard for the amount of fixings added to a twister. Ive gotten a medium Reese’s twister almost every day this past month and sometimes it’s a good amount, sometimes (very few) it’s a lot and then sometimes it’s like they forgot to put some in. I mean I pay almost $8 for this I should get a standard amount each time!
I love coming here when I go through Barstow. The food is good and reasonably priced. The half and half dipped cone is a must. They have fish year round. It's so cute inside, the decor is retro Route 66 inspired.
Good ice cream, Sundays and food right on Route 66 in Barstow. Have been here a few times and enjoyed it each time. Recently tried the Carmel Milkshake and would get it again.
Small indoor seating area. Does have an outdoor seating area and a drive thru. They do have a surcharge if using credit/debit to pay.

Fosters Freeze has been a Barstow staple for decades, offering clean facilities, good value, and great food. The restaurant offers a home-town experience of a timeless classic, with delicious ice cream and a nice cool treat during hot summer days. The decor has a bit of a "tourist trappy" feel, but the food is actually good, with decent smashburgers and actual breast meat in the chicken. The establishment has a value menu that satisfies the hunger without breaking the bank.
Customers have been going to Fosters Freeze since they were kids, and now they get to bring their own kids to enjoy the same experience. The old-school aesthetic makes for a great experience, and the food is normally top-notch, with good presentation. The Boss Burger and the chicken strip kids meal are customer favorites.
